Resentment.....

Author's POV:

Aparna looked up at him, her eyes still filled with the pain of her memories. She took a shaky breath and then nodded. "It was... my real father."

Rajvansh felt as if the ground had shifted beneath him. His breath caught in his throat, and a cold, sinking feeling spread through his chest. "Your real father?" he echoed, barely able to comprehend the words.

"Yes," Aparna whispered, her voice trembling. "He wanted me dead, for reasons I still don't fully understand."

Shock turned into a seething fury within Rajvansh. The idea that a father could do something so vile, so unforgivable, was beyond his comprehension. His hands trembled with the effort to contain his rage, but it was a losing battle.

"That monster," he spat, his voice shaking with anger. "How could he? How could any father do that to his own child?"

His mind raced, trying to piece together the fragments of her story with what he knew. The anger he felt was a living thing, coursing through him with every heartbeat. He wanted to find this man, to make him answer for his crimes. To kill him. But more than that, he wanted to protect Aparna, to ensure that she never had to fear her past catching up with her.

"I will find him," Rajvansh vowed silently, with a cold, steely resolve. "He will pay for what he did to my Aparna."

He hugged her tightly, channeling his anger into a fierce determination. He would use every resource at his disposal, call in every favor, to find that bastard. His love for her was stronger than any rage, and he would not rest until she was safe and the man who had tried to destroy her life was killed by his hands.

Rajvansh held Aparna close, his anger still simmering beneath the surface but overshadowed by his immediate need to comfort her. Gently, he guided her back onto the bed, making sure she was comfortable. He climbed beside her, wrapping his arms around her protectively.

"Shhh, it's alright now," he whispered softly, stroking her hair. "You're safe with me."

Aparna nestled into his embrace, her body gradually relaxing as the exhaustion from recounting her traumatic memories set in. Rajvansh continued to whisper soothing words, his voice a gentle murmur in the quiet room.

Slowly, her breathing evened out, the tension leaving her body as she drifted into a deep sleep. Rajvansh remained vigilant, his eyes scanning the room as if to ward off any unseen threats. He could feel the steady rhythm of her heartbeat against his chest, a reassuring reminder of her presence and safety.

Gradually, the adrenaline began to fade, and Rajvansh felt the weariness of the day catch up with him. But he refused to close his eyes, determined to stay awake and guard Aparna's sleep. He tightened his arms around her slightly, as if his embrace could shield her from the nightmares and the past that haunted her.

Minutes turned into hours, and despite his best efforts, Rajvansh's eyes began to droop. He fought the pull of sleep, but the warmth of Aparna's body against his and the soft, rhythmic sound of her breathing lulled him into a state of calm.

"I won't let anything happen to you," he murmured one last time, his voice filled with a mixture of love and determination.

With that silent vow, Rajvansh finally allowed himself to drift off, still holding Aparna securely in his arms.

The morning sunlight filtered through the curtains, casting a soft glow across the room. Rajvansh stirred awake, his body still curled protectively around Aparna. He blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, and found Aparna already awake, gazing up at him with a soft smile.
