Chapter 8

BETHANY POV
I woke up the next morning at 6:30. I got up and got dressed. I chose a black tank top, with my ripped maroon jean shorts, and my black beanie and high tops. I peered into Joseph's room and saw him sleeping right beside Beth. I went into the bathroom and did my makeup. I put on black lip stick, and black eyeshadow, and eyeliner, and mascara. I ran down stairs grabbed my back pack and headed to the bus stop.

*time lapse*

I was up against my locker talking to Emerald before school started. I noticed a very cute boy walk down the hallway. He looked a lot like Squid, dirty blonde hair, and blue eyes, beautiful.
"Emerald who is that?!"
"Oh him, that's Carter Hills. He moved here about a week ago, and he is the cutest boy in school, and the best part he's single!"
"No way!"
"Yes way!"
"How do you know all this?"
"People say I'm quiet, but really I observe."
"Wow, well you will never date him." I said playing around and lightly pushing her.
"Well you will never date him!" She said mocking me, and pushing me. I lost my balance and tumbled backwards into Carters arms.
"H-hi." I said as he helped me up.
"Are you ok?" He asked me
"Yeah I'm fine,are you ok."
"Yeah, never better!"
"Ummm, well I got to go to class, see ya later!"
"Ok see ya!"
Thank God that's over! I walked over to my locker grabbed my books and headed down the hall to my first class.

*time lapse*

CARTER POV
After school I rode my bike home, and knocked on my neighbor, Emily's, door.
This time her mom answered.
"Hello Carter, how are you?"
"I'm good thanks! Is Emily home?"
"Yes she is in the backyard, you can go on back."
"Thanks!"
I ran in to the backyard and saw Emily playing baseball with a girl. She looked very familiar, wait a second that was the girl I ran into today at school. I never caught her name though. She was beautiful.
My thoughts were interrupted by my name.
"CARTER.....CARTER!"
"Commin!"
"I want you to meet someone, Carter this is Bethany, Bethany this is Carter."
"Hey what's up." I said
"Nothing,so are you gonna play with us?" Emily asked.
"Sure!"
We played baseball for a few hours then I went home.

*time skip*

BETHANY POV
I thought about the whole Carter incident as I ride my bike home from Emily's

*short time lapse*

I ran upstairs and peered in to Joseph's room. He was recording again. I walked into my room and plopped myself in my bed. Then Joseph walked in.
"I have good news!" He said
"What? Tell me tell me!"
"Mom is going to Florida for a month with Carl,and Me, you, and Anette are staying here!"
"When is she leaving?"
"Tomorrow!"
Finally a month without torture. I can be free, do what I want, eat food! I called up Emerald to tell her the great news.
"Hey Bethany what's up?"
"Hey guess what!"
"What?"
"My mom and her boyfriend are leaving for Florida tomorrow!"
"Really?!? How long will they be gone?"
"A whole month!"
"Wow that's awesome!"
"So I was thinking maybe you would want to leave your hell hole tomorrow and come spend the night at my place?"
"Yes!!!! I would love to!"
"Ok see ya tomorrow!"
"Ok bye."
This was amazing, I finally got to have a friend spend the night. I never had people over. N-E-V-E-R. This was going to be awesome.
