The Beginning

Emily had always been a skeptic when it came to the supernatural. She never put much stock in ghost stories or the idea of communicating with the dead.

But that was before she lost her lover, Jack. The pain of his loss had been overwhelming, and she found herself searching for any way to connect with him again.

While cleaning out her attic, Emily stumbled upon an old Ouija board that her grandmother had left behind. At first, she was hesitant to touch it, but something compelled her to give it a try.

She set up the board in her living room, lit some candles, and invited Jack's spirit to join her.

To her surprise, the planchette began to move on its own, spelling out messages that seemed to be from Jack. At first, they were gentle and loving, but as time went on, the messages became more cryptic and ominous.

Emily was torn between her desire to believe that she was really communicating with Jack and her growing unease.

As the sessions continued, strange things began to happen in Emily's life. Doors would slam shut on their own, and she would hear whispers in her ear when no one was around.

She started to feel like she was being watched all the time, and the feeling of being in danger became constant.

Emily began to question whether she was really in contact with Jack's spirit or if it was an evil entity pretending to be him. She tried to stop using the Ouija board, but she couldn't resist the temptation to communicate with Jack again.

One night, as she was setting up the board for another session, she heard a faint whisper in her ear. " Meet me at the old oak tree at midnight." The voice was low and raspy, not at all like Jack's gentle tone.

Emily felt a chill run down her spine as she realized that something was very wrong. She tried to ignore the voice, but it kept calling out to her, growing louder and more insistent.

At midnight, Emily found herself standing beneath the old oak tree, feeling like she was being pulled towards some unknown fate. As she looked around, she saw a figure emerging from the shadows. It was tall and gaunt, with eyes that glowed like embers.

The figure reached out and touched Emily's face, and suddenly she was flooded with images of Jack's death. She saw him falling from the scaffolding at the construction site where he worked, his eyes frozen in a permanent scream.

Emily knew then that she had made a terrible mistake. The entity on the other side of the Ouija board was not Jack at all.

It was some kind of malevolent spirit that had been manipulating her all along.

With newfound determination, Emily turned away from the entity and began to make her way back home. As she walked, she felt its gaze upon her, but she refused to look back.

From that day on, Emily destroyed all evidence of the Ouija board and avoided anything remotely connected to the supernatural. She knew that some secrets were better left buried in the past.

But as she lay in bed that night, Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that the entity was still out there, waiting for its next victim. She knew that she had narrowly escaped its clutches, but she also knew that it would never give up trying to claim her soul.

And so Emily lived with a newfound fear of the unknown, always looking over her shoulder for signs of the entity's return. She knew that she would never be able to escape its grasp completely, but she vowed to be ready when it came for her again.
