"There's a dazzling haze a mysterious way about you dear, have I known you 20 seconds, or 20 years?"

"Say you'll remember me, standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset babe... red lips and rosy cheeks."
A soft swirl of Taylor Swift's voice drifted through my room as I sat on my pink, fluffy beanbag, staring out the window at our little pond and the garden blooming with sunlight. I let my curls tumble over my shoulders, running my fingers through them absentmindedly. Hogwarts... my first year... I couldn't stop thinking about it.
"I wonder what it looks like there... if I'll make a lot of friends... what if I don't fit in..."
"Y/n! Are you almost done packing?" Mom's voice echoed from the hallway, precise and cheerful as always.
Oh shoot! Time had flown. Mom was punctual to the second—she said it made a good first impression. My heart skipped a beat.
"Yeah, Mom, I'm ready!" I zipped up my trunk, double-checking my robes, pink cardigan, and even my matching socks—details mattered. My nails were freshly painted bubblegum pink, of course, and I adjusted my little gold charm necklace before lifting my trunk with a practiced flick.

Hermione and I were meeting at the train station, our excitement buzzing like magic in the air. Hermione had gone to school with me before our Hogwarts letters arrived, and now we were about to step into a world of enchantment together.
"Hi, Moine! I'm so excited, aren't you?" I practically bounced, my curls brushing against my shoulders as I ran toward her.
"Hey, Y/n! Yeah... it's going to be the best year ever," Hermione replied, adjusting her scarf and holding her books close. "We just have to make sure not to have too much fun and still study." Her voice carried her usual mix of excitement and seriousness.
I laughed softly. "Don't worry, I promise... mostly."

Dad appeared beside me, his robes flowing like they always did, wand tucked into his belt. "Now, just run straight through the barrier between nine and ten, and you'll be on Platform 9¾."
"Dad... are you sure that's safe?" I asked, a shiver of nerves running through me. I mean... running into a solid wall? What if it hurt?
"You'll be fine," he said, smiling. "Trust me. Just keep moving."
With a deep breath, I ran. My heart thudded as my feet left solid ground for a second, then I landed on solid platform, surrounded by a world I could hardly believe. Hundreds of children bustled around, their trunks moving magically, owls perched on shoulders, parents hugging tight before letting go. And there, steaming and gleaming in the morning light, was the Hogwarts Express, red, polished, and perfect. My jaw almost dropped.
"Mom... where's—oh! S-sorry!" I stumbled and nearly collided with a boy with raven-black hair and round glasses. A lightning-shaped scar glinted on his forehead.
"No, it's okay! Here... want help? I'm Harry," he said, his voice quiet and a little shy. But there was something about him... calm, steady, like he belonged to a story.
"Nice to meet you, I'm Y/n... Y/n Wild. Oh! I have to go, bye!" I blurted, cheeks burning, and practically ran toward the train, heart racing.
"Common, Y/n! You're going to miss the train!" Mom called, waving. Right. Hogwarts—here I come!

Hermione and I found a compartment and collapsed inside, practically vibrating with excitement.
"Hey, Y/n, have you heard the new Taylor Swift album?" Hermione asked, glancing at me with her usual spark of curiosity.
"Of course! I already have the record," I said, grinning, brushing a curl behind my ear.
"You brought your record player, right?" she asked, eyebrows raised.
"Course I did, Monie! You know me too well."
We giggled, the train rattling gently beneath us, the smell of fresh bread and smoke drifting through the corridors. The magical energy of children and families and owls was intoxicating.
Our compartment door slid open with a soft click, and two boys peeked inside. One had red hair and freckles, the other... the boy from the platform, looking just as nervous as I remembered.
"Do you mind? Everywhere else is full," the redhead said politely.
"No, not at all! Come on in," I said, gesturing.
"I'm Hermione Granger, this is Y/n Wild... and you are?"
"I'm Ron Weasley. Nice to meet you!" The freckles on his face looked like they were sprinkled with sunlight. He grinned, and I couldn't help but smile back.
"I'm Harry Potter... er, nice to meet you," Harry added quietly.
Oh my gosh. I had literally run into Harry Potter. The Harry Potter.
Hermione squeaked softly, eyes wide. "We're... we're traveling with Harry Potter?"
I sank back into the corner, cheeks flaming, heart racing. The train rocked gently, the sun reflecting off the windows and glinting in Harry's dark hair. Somehow, everything felt magical already, and I hadn't even set foot in Hogwarts yet.
