"We've been swimming on the edge of a cliff I'm resistant, but goin' down with the ship it'd be so nice, right? If we could take it all off and just exist."

Y/n's pov.
The Gryffindor common room was alive with the quiet hum of a winter morning. Snow cascaded in lazy spirals outside the frosted windows, coating the grounds in a pristine white blanket. The fire crackled, its warmth spilling over the room where Harry and I sat near the hearth.
I sipped a mug of hot chocolate, my hands wrapped around it for warmth. Harry sat beside me, scribbling notes for his Transfiguration essay while I flipped absentmindedly through an old Charms textbook. Despite the cozy atmosphere, there was a tension in the air—a nervous anticipation of what the day might bring.
"You're awfully quiet," Harry remarked, setting his quill down.
I glanced up, giving him a small smile. "Just thinking about the lesson today. Do you think Professor Lupin will make us face a Dementor again?"
Harry's brows furrowed. "Probably. But you're getting stronger with it, Y/n. Last time, your Patronus was brilliant."
I hesitated, the memory of my last Patronus still fresh in my mind. The doe I had conjured wasn't as strong as before hadn't and I hadn't had time to process what it meant, and the thought of facing the Dementor again sent a shiver down my spine.
"We'll see," I murmured, setting the book aside. "We should go. Lupin won't wait for us forever."
But before any of that, I had to get ready for the day.In the dormitory, the morning sunlight filtered through the frosty windows, casting a golden glow over the room.
I rummaged through my wardrobe, searching for something warm yet presentable. I finally settled on a cream-colored knit sweater, soft to the touch, paired with a dark green pleated skirt and thick, black tights. My trusty black boots sat near my bed, and I slipped them on, their worn leather providing both comfort and practicality for the cold corridors.
At my vanity, I brushed through my hair, deciding to leave it down in soft waves that framed my face. The enchanted mirror hummed approvingly as I tucked a strand behind my ear.
"You're looking quite cozy today," the mirror commented.
I rushed back down the stairs and Harry was waiting for me. Lavender waved us goodbye from the couch, calling out,
"Good luck with your lesson, Y/n! I know you'll do great!"
I smiled back, appreciating the support, Harry nodded, grabbing his things. As we left the common room, the faint sound of Ron and Hermione bickering drifted down the stairs, their voices blending into the background like a familiar melody.
The Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom was dimly lit, the soft glow of an enchanted orb illuminating the space. Professor Lupin was already waiting for us, his worn robes and kind smile making the room feel less intimidating.
"Ah, there you two are," Lupin said, motioning for us to come closer. "Today, we'll focus on strengthening your Patronus charms. Harry, you've been making excellent progress. Y/n, your Patronus transformation last time was fascinating, and I think we should explore it further."
