It's been a couple of weeks since I was on Kai's stream. It's also been a couple of weeks since I got Duke's number.
To put it simple, I've been busy. Between finishing these songs and getting them recorded, plus all of these side quests my manager wants me to do, it's been a lot.
I haven't put Duke's number to use just yet, simply because I just didn't have the time.
Today however is my off day. I need a break from doing all this work these past couple of weeks.
I had plans to just be in the house and pretty much sleep all day, since I'm lacking it, but my lovely bestfriend had different plans.
Ra'Mariah dragged me out the house so we can go out for brunch. Despite my protests, I got my ass in her car. I only went because I was hungry, plus she said she was paying.
"So sis where you been at?" Ra'Mariah questioned
"I've been working Mari, where else I'm gonna be?" I deadpanned. Mari knows I've been working.
Ra'Mariah shrugged. "Hey I'm just tryna start conversation. Speaking of conversation, did you text that fine man in your phone yet?"
I shook my head. "Nope, been busy." It's not like I don't want to text Duke, but I know if I text him, I'll take my focus away from what I'm supposed to be doing. Absolutely no work would get done.
"Girl- not even a simple 'Hey, how are you?'" She asked
"I mean.. I texted him when I got home the day of Kai's stream. I just told him I got home safe, that was about it."
Ra'Mariah sighed and put her head down. "Ess baby.. give me your phone." She held her hand out.
I just looked at her hand. "Um for what?"
She sucked her teeth. "I'm helping you, now can I see your phone?"
I simply unlocked my phone and handed it to her.
She thanked me and started typing, she then handed me the phone. "There you go."
I looked down at my phone. "You texted Duke?"
She nodded "Yes. Yes I did. You're gonna get nowhere with him if you don't text him."
I just looked at her. "Have you thought about why he didn't text me first? I mean he did want my number, not the other way around."
"No. Plus we're not talking about him, we're talking about you." She pointed at me. "Now when he texts you back, you're going to text him and start conversation. Understand?"
I sucked my teeth. "Man whatever Ra'Mariah, I don't know who's mama you're feeling like, but it's not mine."
"I'm feeling like someone who's gonna help you get some dick. You're welcome." She chuckled.
