BILL'S POV
December 1st, 2007Tom, Felix, Dan and I all stood in the schoolyard, watching people built snowmen, had snowball fights and tried to skate across the snow. My hands were in the pocket of my black coat, trying to keep warm.
I looked over at Blair and Alice, who were making a snowman. Well, trying to, but it was pretty difficult considering there were only two of them.
"You four!" Alice called us out, catching all of our attention, "Come help us."
"Why us?" Dan asked.
"Don't act like you don't wanna spend time with Alice," Felix whispered, earning an elbow in the ribs from Dan.
"Because we can't do it on our own, we need more people, and you guys are all standing around doing nothing! Come on, please."
I looked over at Blair, who was looking for the most snowy areas on the yard. "Yeah, we could definitely use some help," she said, "Alice's hands are way too small to collect good amounts of snow."
"Please, Blair, your hands are barely bigger than mine."
"Still bigger, though." She then turned her attention to us, but I could've sworn she was specifically looking at me. "So, are you guys gonna help?"
We all nodded and made our way over to the girls, the process becoming much quicker when we began helping. Blair and I both liked snow onto the snowman, looking up at each other and smiling.
"You know, you look really cool in your winter clothes," Blair said, catching me off guard with the compliment, "You look, like, edgy and mysterious."
I smiled, looking her up and down. She was wearing a cream dress with white tights and leg warmers underneath, pink ugg boots, and a matching scarf and pair of earmuffs.
"Thank you," I said, "You look-"
"Edgy and mysterious?" Blair laughed.
"I was gonna say cute, but that works too."
I was surprised at my own sudden boldness, so tried to play it off by going to collect more snow, hoping she hadn't noticed the flush in my cheeks.
BLAIR'S POV
December 1st, 2007"I was gonna say cute, but that works too," Bill said, seeming so bold. Right as I was about to think of a witty reply, he walked away to get more snow, starting a conversation with Felix.
I felt heat rising to my face, and I knew I was pink, hoping people would just assume the tiny in my cheeks was because of the coldness and not because of my weird feelings for Bill.
I couldn't tell what it was I felt for him, whether I just assumed I liked him because he was nice to me, or whether I had genuine feelings for him. What I did know was that I was definitely physically attracted to him.
I noticed how different our hands were in size when we put the snow down together. His hand could probably wrap all the way around my neck, and I don't think I'd mind if it did.
I noticed how much taller he was than me, towering over me to the point I had to crane my neck to look him in the eyes. Speaking of his eyes, they were so hot. There was a certain look in them that made me go crazy.
His clothing style was so opposite to me, making me worry I wasn't his type. Still, he certainly wasn't mine, but here I was, thinking about how attractive he was. He smelt musky, yet sweet. His makeup was perfectly applied. He never looked bad, ever, it was kind of intimidating, but it made him so much hotter.
"Blair? Hello?" I heard Alice behind me and turned around, "God, I just said your name, like, five times. You were busy staring at Bill."
"Staring at Bill?" Dan asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
"I wasn't, I just spaced out and happened to be looking in his direction."
"Mhm. Anyway, what are we gonna use for the snowman's face? We don't exactly have coal or carrots."
"One sec."
I pulled my bag off my shoulder and dug in it until I found the bag of chocolate buttons I'd not eaten at lunch. I opened them and placed the chocolate on the snowman's face.
"Isn't that a little wasteful?" Alice asked.
"No, it's for our friend. If you had a choice between me having a face, and you having chocolate- Actually, never mind, you'd choose chocolate."
"Mhm."
We all stood back and admired our creation.
"His face is a little crooked," Bill said.
"Oh, like you could do a better job," I scoffed, and we all burst out laughing, until we heard a thud. I looked over at Felix to see snow on his coat, and Tom snickering behind him.
"Oh, you asshole," Felix said, picking up the biggest snowball he could and hurling it at Tom, only just scraping his shoulder.
It wasn't long before we were having a full blown snowball fight, and I was ducking behind walls avoiding Alice and Dan, who seemed to have teamed up.
"Hey, that's not fair, you can't team-" I suddenly felt a hand on my arm, dragging me back behind the wall. I looked up and saw Bill.
"Yes we can," he said, and I smiled at him, trying not to think about how crazy he'd made me go just half an hour earlier.
It was safe to say that Tom and Felix won the snowball fight as a team, the rest of us ended up covered in snow, whilst they had nothing (except the snow on Felix's back that had initiated the whole thing).
"So not fair, you guys had an advantage!" I complained.
"Yeah? What advantage?" Tom asked.
"You- You- Whatever!"
Everyone laughed, knowing the only advantage the two boys had was that they were better than us.
"Why don't we ever hang out?" Dan suddenly spoke, causing us all to look at him. "We get along a lot."
"Probably because Bill and Blair vowed to hate each other for three years," Felix said. I stuck my tongue out at him.
"Well that's over now, and today's our last day before winter break. We won't see each other until the New Year unless we hang out, so we should!"
"I like that idea," Alice smiled, and it became clear why she was so keen to hang out with the guys, specially Dan.
"Yeah, I don't mind it," I said, pretending to be nonchalant. The others burst out laughing, clearly seeing through it.
"Oh, you are so excited," Tom said. I tried to hide my smile, knowing he was right. I was excited to get closer to Bill.
