THIRD PERSON
December 11th, 2007Everyone had finally decided on a day to hang out, and Alice had came over to Blair's house to get ready, clearly needing advice on how she looks.
"You look good, Alice," Blair said, "You always do, I don't know why you're worrying."
"Because we're hanging out with Dan! You wanna look good too, don't you? For Bill?"
Blair's breath caught in her throat and she coughed, looking away from her mirror to look at her best friend.
"Don't be stupid. Me and Bill have only just became friends, I wouldn't catch feelings that quick. Plus, I don't want to. He's my friend and only my friend. You and Dan, on the other hand..."
"Hey, don't change the subject."
"I'll change it if I want to. Did you two hookup at the party last week."
Alice went quiet, but a smile formed on her lips and her cheeks became tinted red.
"Maybe," she said coyly. Blair sighed, knowing Alice's habits. She's hook up with people, then they wouldn't want her like that, and she'd get upset. It had happened so many times that Blair began to think Alice had terrible taste.
Still, Dan seemed nicer than most guys, and he had nice friends. She just hoped he truly reciprocated Alice's feelings, and wasn't looking for a quick bang like all her past crushes were.
"What's with your face, Blair?"
"Nothing, I just- I hope it goes well, that's all."
"It will. I have a good feeling."
Blair nodded, turning back to doing her makeup. Once she was done, the two drove to Felix's house, where the boys already were.
When the two girls entered, Alice sat right next to Dan. Blair sat opposite Bill, next to Felix, but the two couldn't stealing glances at each other, oblivious to the other's eyes.
As Blair spoke to Felix, laughing pretty much every five seconds, Bill turned to his twin, whispering.
"Do you think she's into him?" He asked.
"Felix? No way."
"But she's laughing at everything he says."
"Because he's a really funny guy."
"And he's more her type?"
"Seriously? Didn't you say Blair likes jocks? Felix is far from that."
"He skateboards, that's a sport. He's more her type than I am, that's for sure."
"Not everyone has a type, Bill. Blair's dated one guy, it's pretty hard to tell her type from that, don't you think? You need to stop worrying. If you care so much, why don't you make a move?"
"Don't be stupid, I can't do that!"
Everyone turned their head to look at the twins, Tom stifling a laugh.
"Do what?" Blair asked.
"Yeah, Bill," Felix said, "Do what?"
Blair and Felix looked at each other, holding in their laughter. Bill just sighed and shrugged.
"Nothing," he said, "Doesn't matter."
Everyone shrugged it off, except Alice, who gave Blair a certain look, the kind of look she'd always give her when Bill was mentioned. Blair rolled her eyes and went back to her conversation, before they heard a knock on the door.
"Pizza's here," Dan said.
"You ordered pizza?" Felix asked, "To my house? Why would you do that?"
"I'm, because Alice and I were hungry, and we figured you guys would want some as well. Now answer the door."
"Then I'll have to pay."
"It's your house."
"You ordered it!"
"Yeah, but when you invite people to your house you have the responsibility to-"
"Jesus christ," Bill said, "I'll pay for the pizza."
Bill stood up and walked to the door, Blair watching him the whole time, her eyes scanning his tall body up and down. She felt a nudge from Felix, who wiggled his eyebrows when she turned to look at him.
"What?" She asked.
"Nothing, just the way you looked him up and down, like, twenty times."
"Not you, too."
Felix laughed as Bill brought the pizza over, not seeming mad about the fact he'd had to pay despite Dan ordering the pizza.
"Next time, we're hanging out at Dan's house," Felix said. Everyone laughed.
"I'm gonna go and get a drink," Bill said, "Does anyone want one?"
"I'll get my own," Blair said, just looking for an excuse to be alone with Bill, even if it was for just a minute. The two made their way to the kitchen, and Blair pulled ten euros out of her pocket, holding it out to Bill as she looked in the fridge.
"What's that for?" Bill asked.
"Half of the pizza money. Thought it was kind of unfair you had to pay."
"I really don't mind, you know. The guys are always like that, it's kind of funny."
"Just take my money."
"No, it's fine!"
The two continued to bicker, until Blair pulled Bill towards her by his belt, causing his breath to hitch. She looked up at him for a second, and she swore she could see something in his eyes, some kind of heat. She ignored it, slipping the ten euros in his pocket.
"Don't give it back," she said. Bill nervously laughed, trying to ignore the tension they'd created.
They both left the kitchen with their drinks and sat down in the same spaces as earlier. Tom noticed the nervous look on his brother's face.
"What happened in there?" He asked.
Bill sighed. "Nothing, unfortunately."
