Final Selection

I had finally made it. The Wysteria Mountains.

However that's when the panic finally set in. Oh fuck, what if I do die? What if I can't make it? What if I never come back down? I can always run...

My thoughts were interrupted as I felt someone bump into me. "Oh my apologies! I didn't mean to bump into you miss!"

I looked over to where the voice was coming from. In front of me stood a boy with black hair and burgundy tips. But what really caught my attention was the scar on his forehead and his dark red eyes.

I smiled and waved my hand, "Don't worry it was an accident." The boy smiled back at me, "But I really am sorry, ma'am."

Wow, it's not everyday you meet people like this, even rare for guys to be like this.

We heard the sound of voices and saw two twins. One with black hair and one with white. In my opinion, they were kinda creepy.

The boy and I walked to where the twins were, along with everyone else. Final Selection was about to start.

After the twins had explained the whole idea of Final Selection, (didn't want it to drone in bc technically I gave the explanation), it was off we went.

I was facing the woods, taking a deep breath, and clenched my sword.

You can do this, Hoshiko...you can do it.

I was running through the woods, it was the second night, and I was lasting pretty well. I had already killed 6 demons, 2 last night, and so far 4 tonight.

I had to stay in the more open areas, with easy access to see the stars. That did, however, put myself at risk.

But if I wanted to live through this whole week, the more demons I kill the better.

I was sitting on a tree branch currently. I can make plenty track time during the day, night time is what I'm more concerned about. If I'm in the deep woods where the stars are concealed, it'll be harder to use my breathing style.

But open areas are hard to find and surely I'm somewhere near the middle of the mountain.

I groaned and leaned my head against the tree. I looked over my wounds. Nothing to bad. Hopefully it'll stay that way.

Screams then suddenly echoed throughout the woods. I shot up and jumped down from the tree branch.

Following the sound of the screams, I came across two boys. One of them was the kind boy from earlier, the other I didn't know. In front of them was one of the biggest demons in the woods, by far.

He was huge and covered with fingers crawling out of his skin. His head was small compared to the rest of his body, but oh dear was it terrifying.

I looked over at the boy I didn't know, he looked like he was injured. I knelt down to him. "Are you okay?" The boy had a wound on his arm, which I cut my pant leg a little to wrap it around his arm.
