Mel POV
I woke up to the sound of someone knocking on the bedroom door. I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and yawned. Someone pounds on the door once more. I push myself up and survey the blurry bedroom before me. I blinked a few times before my eyes focused. The dark blue curtains covered the windows, and a desk with books was in the corner. The room was mostly empty, and there wasn't much going on. It was much smaller than I was used to. "This is not my room," I thought as I scratched my head in confusion about what happened last night. I turned to my right and saw fluffy black hair peeking out of the covers. Then it hit me; I remembered what happened. I had slept with Odin last night. I thought to myself, holding my head. I heard an angry knock on the door. My eyes widened, and I covered my mouth. Oh shit! I slept with Odin last night! I quickly got up and ran around the room, putting on my clothes. Odin stirred awake from my sudden movements.
"Ngh Mel, what are you doing? Come back to bed." The door pushed open, and I could only imagine I looked like I had seen a ghost when I saw Vince, Sam, and Rory standing in the doorway.
"Oh, good morning, Alpha Sam!" Odin hopped out of bed, luckily already wearing shorts. Odin went to shake their hands, but none of them reached out. Vince's eyes pierced Odin's, and Sam let out a snarl he was trying to hold back.
"They hate me, don't they?" Odin mind linked to me.
"No, they're jealous. I haven't mated with them yet." Odin spun around to face me.
"Why didn't you tell me that!? Now I feel like a dick." I smile nervously at Odin.
"I'm sorry! It didn't come up last night." My face flushed red, and he turned to face my other mates. Odin approached them and sniffed them to see if they were his mates. The boys didn't move from the doorway; Vince and Sam looked angry, but Rory seemed to be holding back his usual laughter.
"Well, it seems none of them are also my mate, so this is awkward," Odin trailed off, backing up to stand beside me. Rory sighed and patted Sam on the shoulder.
"Both of you need to calm down your wolves. Mel is still our mate. Odin isn't going to steal him away from us." Rory breaks the threshold of the doorway and walks towards me. He kisses me on my head and breathes in deeply. He smiles at Odin and then stands beside me. Then there's a long silence.
"If it makes things any better-" Odin pauses, looking at my two mates still in the doorway. "Mel topped last night, so his ass is still yours to take." Odin blurts out the rest of his rather vulgar sentence. I slapped my hands over my face. Rory busts out laughing, finally breaking the tension.
"Damn, I would have loved to see that." I hear Vince's gravelly voice speak. I squeak out in embarrassment.
"I-I lost control of my heat. I'm sorry." I leaned into Rory's side, and Odin touched my back.
"It's alright, my love. Something was bound to happen eventually." Sam's soothing voice echoes through the room. I remove my hands from my face and see Sam and Vince's softened features.
"So you're not mad at me?"
"No, of course not, Mel," Sam said reassuringly as he approached me. He leaned in and tenderly planted a quick peck on my forehead before enveloping me in a warm embrace, wrapping his arms around me and resting his chin gently on my head.
As I stand in the middle of the room, Vince turns to address me directly. "But it's happening tonight," he says with a mischievous glint in his eye. "Odin, feel free to join us." His playful wink suggests there's more to this invitation than meets the eye, and with that, he strolls away, leaving me to anticipate the night ahead nervously.
