Song: Raised By Wolves by The Interrupters
-------------------------------------------------------------
Mel's POV
Sam and Vince left me with Rory while they returned to the Warrior Star Pack to get my Omega friends. I was exhausted after my first shift into my wolf; my eyes drooped and felt heavy. Rory prepared a bath and told me to relax, assuring me that it would help alleviate my aches. He also assured me he would wait outside the bathroom door if I needed assistance.
I sink into the bathtub, letting the warm water engulf me. A sigh escapes me as I start washing, and I notice my bruises fading into my skin. "What the?" I rinse the soap off my body and quickly hop out of the tub. I rush to the mirror, astonished that my wounds have healed. I gently touch my face, which is no longer black and blue.
Did shifting cause my healing abilities to start working finally? I wrapped a towel around my waist and excitedly opened the bathroom door. "Rory, Rory, look! I'm healed!" Rory is sitting on the couch, watching TV.
"Aww, Mel!" Rory gets up and hugs me. "I'm so happy you are finally strong enough to connect with your wolf." Rory moves back and takes hold of my face, guiding our lips together. We kissed, and I felt electricity course through me. Rory breaks off the kiss and then looks serious. "Once you have rested and your heat ends, you must train to protect yourself and get your shifting and pheromones in check."
"Of course, I want to learn," I chirped happily.
"But you know, before that can happen, we have to finish the mating bond," Rory said as he brushed some hair out of my eyes to see my reaction.
"Oh," My voice wavers.
"We don't want to rush you, but you being kidnapped and not being able to mind-link with us put you in a bad situation," Rory said as he cupped the side of my face to comfort me.
"I wish we could have communicated through a mind link, but you already knew who took me," I say, my voice trembling slightly.
"Yes, but what if it happens again and it's not Aremus who takes you, or something worse? I'm not trying to scare you, Mel. I want you to be safe. I love you." I can see Rory's eyes beginning to water.
"I love you too, Rory, and you know I want nothing more than to mate with you! I'm worried about having a breakdown in the middle of an intimate moment with you all and ruining it," I confessed honestly.
"Baby, you could never ruin anything," Rory assures me. "Sam, Vince, and I understand it may not go smoothly. We will never hurt you, I promise." He gives me a peck on the forehead.
"I love you all so much. I am so grateful for you," I begin to sob. "Thank you so much for accepting me even though I'm damaged," I barely get out through my sobs.
"Babe, you're not damaged," Rory runs his fingers through my hair. "It just takes time. You've gone through several traumatizing events." He pauses. "That reminds me, Sam has arranged for you to see Dr. Kane for therapy once a week when you're ready, of course," Rory wipes my tears away with his thumbs.
"I'd like that."
Unknown POV
Since I was captured and thrown down here, all the Omega's talk about is that 'Mel's Alpha mate' is coming to save us. I don't know who the fuck that is and why they are so important.
Just a few days ago, I was a rouge looking for some shelter from the summer heat. I stumbled upon this pack, and that was a mistake.
The basement is dingy and gross, but at least it's cool. They also only feed us once a week; most of the time, it's only enough for one person. At least, that's what the others told me. I haven't eaten since I arrived. I couldn't imagine being down here all my life, but many of the Omega have grown up here. I'm sitting in the corner, leaning against the wall, when I hear screams from above us. What sounds like a whole pack of wolves stomping across the floor upstairs becomes louder once the door to the basement is ripped open. Two rather muscular men barrel down the stairs, stopping right before the cell bars.
"Alpha Sam!" One of the pups jumps up, running towards the two large men.
"Hello, little pup. I told you I would be back for you all." The taller man, who I can only assume is Sam, speaks with a smile.
"Here's how this is going to work. Everyone follows Sam, and I will follow behind the last person. Since I assume most of you cannot shift, we will walk on foot to our pack lands." The one with the raven black hair said.
"I have my military here. They will distract your pack while we get you out of here, okay?" Sam reassures everyone as he unlocks the barred door, throwing the key to the side.
We all gather into a line, pushing everyone out of the cell to keep up with Sam. I'm in the middle, holding onto the Omega in front of me.
We make it fairly quickly out to the forest with no altercations. We probably walked for maybe 20 to 30 minutes. It would have been faster in wolf form, but many Omegas have never shifted. So that was out of the question, just like the black-haired muscular guy said. We came across a creek, and many of the Omega stopped to clean themselves off a bit, which Sam allowed. I didn't need to do that; I had only been there maybe 4 to 5 days. Maybe a week? I lost track of time down there. We continue and step into a clearing. Sam leads us through it and passes another tree line revealing houses and a vast pack house. I look around in awe. I haven't been a part of a pack in a long time. We will see how this goes.
"Alright, we will have you all live in the pack house. We will show you to your rooms and if you wish to room with someone you may. If anyone has questions, please do not hesitate to ask them. Alpha Sam is always there to help." The black-haired man points to our new Alpha, who smiles and waves. We file into the pack house, and Alpha Sam starts on the first floor, getting Omegas roomed up—the second, third, and fourth. I somehow ended up being last. Alpha Sam stood in front of me with a clipboard and pen.
"Welcome to the Hazel Crest pack; what is your name?" He asks.
"It's Odin."
"Nice to meet you, Odin. As you know, I'm the Alpha of this pack. If you need anything, please let me know. One last question, Odin: How old are you?"
"25."
"Okay, thank you for answering. You will be across from my room. There is an attached bathroom; please feel free to use it and decorate your room to your liking." Alpha Sam opens my door and waits for me to go inside. I give him a small smile and nod before heading into my new room. I close the door behind me and slide down the door, letting a breath out. It might take time to adjust to being in a pack again.
Mel's POV
I watched Sam and Vince through the bedroom window, bringing the Omega up the pack house. I am so excited for them all to be here. They can now have a chance at having a normal life. Well, as normal as a werewolf, life can be. I decided to let them all settle before getting excited in their faces that they were here. I waited for Sam to finish rooming the last Omega, but not before peeking out the door at him. I had never seen him before, but he was handsome. He had black hair like Vince and a sharp jawline like Rory. He also had a septum piercing and wore black rings on his fingers. He was shorter than all my mates, probably closer to my height. He was skinny but not like he hadn't eaten in months skinny.
"Welcome to the Hazel Crest pack; what is your name?" Sam asks the boy.
"It's Odin." The boy responds.
"Nice to meet you, Odin! As you know, I'm the Alpha of this pack. If you need anything, please let me know. One last question, Odin: How old are you?"
"25."
25?! He looks so much younger than that. I quickly close the door before Sam catches me listening in. My heart flutters a bit thinking about introducing myself to Odin. Wait a second. I sniff the air, but there's nothing. I clutch my heart. Thank goddess. I thought Odin might be another mate because of my body's reaction, but it's my heat flaring back up. I walk back to the bed where Rory is sound asleep and cuddle back up next to him, falling asleep.
