Someone needs to shut that infernal beeping off, it's insufferable. Your eyes cracking open but you quickly shut them again. The bright white lights absolutely blinding. You let out a groan as you try to sit up and open your eyes again. A hospital room. Surely your wound hadn't been that bad that you needed to go to an actual hospital.

The door cracks open with a knock, you look over and see Soap with a small bundle of yellow tulips. "Hey! You're awake!" A big grin spreading across his face. You offer him a smile as you try to get comfortable. "How're you feeling?" He asks as he takes a seat in the chair next to your bed. It was fairly close, had someone been sat there before?

"I feel like crap but I'll live" You tell him honestly bringing your attention to the pain in your thigh. "We almost lost ya there for a second, you flat lined" He tells you, a grim look on his face. You looked to him shocked. "What?" You whisper shocked.

"Yeah, you had lost a lot of blood. The glass had cut an artery in your leg. You nearly bled out on the table. I'd never seen Ghost rushing like that to get you seen. Almost like Ghost had seen a ghost" He chuckles to himself over the joke he made. Your smile fades away. Ghost...where was he? Or had he dropped you off at the hospital and carried on his merry way? Did he care at all?

"What's wrong?" Soaps voice bringing you out of your thoughts. "Oh nothing, was just thinking is all" You wave him off. Your relationship with Ghost wasn't something you felt you could openly talk about just yet with anyone from the team. "Well in any case, Price will be in to talk to you in a bit for a mission debrief. We all gave ours last week" He tells you. "Last week? How long have I been out?" Your eyes wide at the news.

"You've been out for a week and a half Y/N, like I said. You almost died on us" His brows furrow as he speaks. A week and a half? A knock on your door brings you back to reality. Both you and Soap look towards the door and see Price. "Good to see you're awake Y/N, up for a mission debrief?" He asks you with a smile.

It was later in the evening now. The hospital was quiet now, the clock on the wall reading midnight right back at you. You sigh. Sleep was eluding you tonight, possibly because you've been asleep for nearly 2 weeks. Keegan had visited you earlier, the situation between you two was now slightly awkward.

He ended up growing feelings for you during the mission. Maybe having sex with him hadn't been the best of idea's. You couldn't help but feel guilty about that. You really only had sex with him because Ghost had riled you up in the elevator earlier, but you couldn't blame Ghost. No this was your fault and now you had to deal with the consequences of your actions.

You hear your door open and close quietly behind you. Who ever was in your room silently moved to the chair behind you. You peak over your shoulder to see who it was. "Simon?" You were surprised to see him here. "There's my girl" You could swear there was a slight smirk on his face just by the tone in his voice. "Hey.." You say to him as you turn over completely.

"How're you feeling, doll?" He asks you, his voice warming your heart. "Well..I'm not dead. Thanks to you" You tell him. He stayed silent, you wondered if he had heard you at all. "Simon?" You question. Suddenly you feel him take your hands in his. "I...we thought we'd lost ya" He stuttered causing you to raise a brow. Since when does he stutter?

"When you passed out in my arms... I-" He stops abruptly. You squeeze his hand gently, trying to think of how you could comfort him. He wasn't the most expressive of men on your team and it was hard to build any kind of relationship with him. So seeing him like this felt beyond foreign.

"I'm okay, You got me here in time and I'm okay" You reassure him as you intertwined your fingers. A motion that felt too intimate. The silence grew louder however it wasn't an uncomfortable silence.

"Simon?" Your voice breaking the silence. "Hm?" He voice sounding tired, had he slept at all? "Did you want to lay down with me?" Your voice just above a whisper. It wasn't a big bed by any means, you'd both be squished on it but you hoped he'd agree.

You hear the sound of the leather of the chair crinkling as he lifts himself off it. You scoot over to give him enough space. Without another word he joins you on the bed, taking you in his arms and pressing your head against his chiselled chest. He felt so warm and inviting. He held onto tightly, almost as if he was afraid you'd disappear.

He didn't need to voice his concerns, his actions were more than enough evidence that you meant something to him. He planted a gentle kiss atop your head as he rubbed soothing circles into your shoulder. Simon was never one to get close to anyone. Always keeping people more than an arms length away.

But something about you intrigued him. It scared him. He had never felt a pull in the direction of a singular person, but you were different. You didn't push or pry. You didn't ask or expect much of him. You nestled your head into his chest, your eyes feeling heavier and heavier. "Simon?" You whisper. "Yes, doll?" He questions as his hand was now tracing along your spine. "Will you stay here with me?" You ask as you grip onto his shirt, afraid he'd get up and leave at the question.

You felt immensely safer in his grasp, something about the way he held onto you made you feel like you were the most important thing in the world in that moment to him. For a brief moment his touches paused before continuing again. He didn't respond right away, likely thinking about a response. "I'll be here" He whispers as he rests he leans his head against yours. "Thank you Simon..." You whisper as you doze off.

"Anything for you, love".
