Niall pov

"I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and i'll see you after break" Professor Coleman dismissed the class.

I got up and grabbed my things from my chair.

"God I cannot believe we made it through this term, I couldn't stand Coleman" Micheal groaned when we walked down the corridor.

I just laughed.

"Maybe if you paid any attention in class, you would have liked it?" I suggested as we walked out to the vast parking lot.

Most everyone had left already, to their homes for the holidays. My finals were later in the week than average so it was just a few stragglers.

"Niall I think you're the only one who thought classic literature was interesting" He laughed and shook his head at me.

I rolled my eyes, but not totally disagreeing with him.

"You sure you don't need a ride?" He asked when we made it to his car.

I shook my head and put my hands on my back pack straps, pulling them lightly.

"No it's okay thank you though, i'll call you later yeah?" I asked and he nodded.

I started my walk back to my dorm. It wasn't far, about twenty minutes but I didn't mind. Once it started getting colder out and the branches got all bare, it was really pretty.

I walked along my usual path and got to my room eventually.

It was odd not immediately going over assignments that needed to be done when I got home, so instead I did some laundry.

I waited around for the clothes to finish and then hung them in my closet.

I noticed in the corner of the closet was my suitcase. I debated getting it out because I was leaving in a few days to see my parents for Christmas, so I would need it.

I shrugged and pulled it out and unzipped it, empty of course. I unzipped all the pockets, out of boredom really, and then I noticed a small with spot in the side pocket.

I reached in and pulled out what appeared to be a  piece of paper. I definitely didn't put that there.

I unfolded it and read the mystery note.

-Niall, incase I missed you at the airport, I just wanted to tell you that it wasn't your fault, this summer. I loved meeting and knowing you, you are the most beautiful person I ever met, inside and out. I know you love to read so please don't go to criticizing my writing, but this is all from the heart. I know it was unconventional, our relationship, if you would like to call it that, but to me it was still nice to have something with you than nothing at all. I remember the woman from the farmers market told us 'sometimes the beauty is in the almost rather than the ending'. If that's true, then our almost was the most beautiful experience I got to have.
I love you Niall, today and tomorrow and until our tears meet again and form new roses.
-Harry xx.

I took a deep breath trying to calm the flow of tears coming from my eyes.

I wiped my nose, nastily, on my shirt and got up from the floor.

I read the note probably eight more times, crying harder each time.

I hadn't thought of Harry in a while. I was almost done with my second year of college, that doesn't give you alot of time to think about your feelings when you're drowning in homework.

I finally stopped crying and sat on my bed, hugging myself.

After the summer, I went to school normally and saw my friends again and even got a boyfriend. It was short lived but I was happy I tried.
