Jane

"I have a proposal for you, Alpha Shane," Alpha Xander said, once we were in my Father's office. He sat down.

"I thought we have already come to terms with a deal."

"I know. It wouldn't be bad to add a new to it. After all, I have little gain in this deal of ours."

"What can you possibly be adding to this deal?"

"You'll find out now. If you refuse this proposal of mine, I will refuse the deal and take you and your Pack as my enemies. I bet you don't want that," Alpha Xander said, brusquely.

"Does your proposal have something to do with her?" my father asked in a low-pitched tone.

"You are right. I must commend your smartness," he said, with a smirk.

Me? What could his proposal be? If it was for them to stop bullying me or something, it wouldn't be possible. No matter if they sign a deal with him. I knew them. They were my family. They were ready to act according to your wish, just to get what they wanted but afterwards, they would betray you.

"I want to take Jane, along with me," Alpha Xander said, coarsely.

Was I hearing things? Was he being serious? Why me?

"She's my daughter. You can't possibly think I'd give my daughter to you," my Father snarled.

"Well, the choice is yours. I see the deal is not important. I don't have to waste my time, anymore. I should just take my leave," Alpha Xander said, shrugging his shoulders. "I hope you don't regret it."

"Wait, Alpha Xander. I have to go and discuss this with my family," my father said, rising from his seat. He left his office.

"Alpha Xander, why me? I'm nothing but a weakling."

"That reminds me. Your scent. Why do I find it hard to smell your scent?" he asked, skeptically. His blue eyes looking at me, fiercely.

I couldn't tell him. Ethan would kill me if I told anyone.

"Nothing. I have no idea," I said, immediately.

"You don't have to lie to me. Why do your family treat you like this? And why didn't you stand up for yourself? Tell me the truth. I won't let anything happen to you. No one will dare to raise a hand at you, not to talk of hurting you."

"It's not just my family but this Pack," I muttered. "I moved into this Pack with my dad, at the age of eighteen. My dad had rejected my mum. He took Luna Cassie as his new mate because that was the only way he could succeed her father, as the Alpha of this Pack. And I have a weak wolf."

"For how long did they mistreat you?"

"Seven years."

"You mean for seven years you have been enduring this unfair treatment, Jane?" Alpha Xander clenched his fist. "This is unbelievable! What about your mum?"

"My grandma was sick and they wouldn't allow my mom into this Pack with my grandmother. And my father had told her that for her to join this Pack, she must accept to be Luna Cassie's personal maid."

"I will make everyone pay for what they have done to you. Mark my words, Jane," he said, taking my hands in his. "You are now my responsibility. Therefore, no one has the right to hurt or harm you."

"Why me?"

"Because my wolf likes you and I just can't leave you here to suffer," Alpha Xander explained.

Tears welled up in my eyes. I couldn't explain how I was feeling. Why would someone like him care about me?

My father cleared his throat as he walked back into his office.

"We have a deal," my father brought out his hand for Alpha Xander to shake.

Alpha Xander ignored it. He shifted his gaze to Ethan and Beta Logan. "I will go through the document and once I've signed it, I will have it returned to you, tomorrow."

He looked at me. "You don't need to pack anything, Jane. You'll never lack anything in my Pack. All you have to do is get ready. Once the document is brought back, my guards will bring you to me. And if anyone dares to lay their filthy hands on you, let me know. I'll chop it off and it shall be a warning to the rest of them."

He stood up and walked to the door. He glanced at Ethan and then at Beta Logan. "Be grateful to her. She's the only reason I accepted this partnership deal in the first place. And you all will answer to me when the time comes," he growled and left the room, slamming the door behind him.

"Smell her," my father commanded at once.

Beta Logan rushed to where I was and sniffed me. He nodded at my father.

"You're very lucky, Jane. But trust me, it's not going to last forever. He doesn't know how weak you are. He'll get tired of you and send you back to us," my father said and laughed.

Ethan walked to me and grabbed my neck. "Don't think you have escaped from me or from any of us. Once we have gotten what we want, I will come for you and I will bring you back to us and I'll triple your punishment."

His grip on my neck tightened. "You're hurting me," I cried out.

"Shut up, Jane!" He screamed and pushed me away. "He's gone I can give you a good bye beating and no one will save you from me."

"I haven't even left yet and you're already planning to beat her up. Why are you so stubborn?" Alpha Xander questioned from the doorway.

Ethan shifted, nervously, as he turned to look at Alpha Xander.

Alpha Xander walked over to him and gave him a punch. "I see the last warning was not enough. My goddamn instinct was right, all along. You were going to hurt her after all my warning." He punched him again.

"Please stop, Alpha Xander," I cried out, intervening.

He stopped at once, grabbed my hand and started walking away. "You're coming with me, now."
