Chapter Fifty Six

Cyrus' POV...

Today's the day we say goodbye to being kids and hello to being adults. It's surprising how far I've come and with the people I chose to spend it with. Many highs and lows have been had, and yet we still stuck together. My family has too grown till an extent where I know they will be good without me for a year or two. Plus, they'll have all the protection in the world if you know what I mean.

Standing in front of the mirror after getting ready for graduation, I was amazed at how far I have come, and the fact that I am graduating is something I never saw myself doing. Let alone without a wig.

Let's get this show on the road!

Riders POV...
All that's going through my head is what will happen to Cyrus and I. Where will we be after this? I know we will both be going our separate ways. However, I hope in some way we will meet up at some point and all that will be worthwhile.

My thoughts were interrupted by Cyrus. Can I just say that she truly is the most beautiful person I have ever laid my eyes on? She walks in self- confidence and power like no other. If possible, the world would bow down and tremble at every step she takes elegantly.

"Hey love, what's got you in a daze?,"Cyrus asks.
"No one other than you,"I said,gracefully kissing her on the lips.
"You look incredible. The beauty you possess will surely make a few people jealous and bring me great pleasure knowing I have the pleasure to call you mine,"I said, pulling her closer.
"Why thank you, sir,you look ravishing yourself,"She said,kissing me deeply on the lips.

Making our way towards the auditorium and receiving many glances and remarks, we finally took a seat. Time to graduate..

*After all introductions*

One by one, I watched as the class of 2021 graduated. I was not surprised to hear that Cyrus landed as top of many of our subjects and top of the class as well. Intelligence is one of her most attractive traits if I do say so myself.

I, myself, scored a few certificates not to toot my own horn.

Today marks the beginning of the rest of lives. I watched as Becca and Cyrus were squirming from excitement in their seats like they always do. Curiosity took over .

"Psst...what's got you two so giggly?"I asked.
"Mind your business second place,"Becca whispers.
"Heyyy, I alone call him second place,"Cyrus said,pinching her, as if that does anything.
"Hey no pinching,"Becca said,pinching her back.

I watches as they turned into two toddlers. Shaking my head, I leaned over and pulled them apart.

"Stop it both of you,"I said.

I watched as they made faces to each other before composing themselves and focused on the rest of the graduation.

After what felt like a millennial with Becca and Cyrus' childish theatrics, I managed to pry Cyrus away from the crowd to get some alone times with her, but also to talk.

"So....when you leaving?"I asked.
"Well, I was thinking the end of the week. I really want to get a job and earn money that isn't dirty, if that makes sense,"Cyrus said.
"So you're leaving daring the summer,"I said, looking down due to disappointment.
"Heyy..don't do that. You know we speak up about how we feel Rider,"She says, lifting my chin up.
"That's too soon, Cyrus. I want at least a week or two where we spend time together as a couple,"I said, frustrated.
"I know, Rider, I know. However, the sooner, the better before this city swollows me whole. You can also spend the summer with me," Cyrus says, staring at me, hopeful.
"I can't leave now. Here are too many people I need to protect once you leave. Someone's got to do it!"I said,throwing my arms in the air in frustration.
"Hey! That's uncalled for, you know my reasons Rider. You are the person that keeps me sane and happy,however, I need to learn how to stay sane and happy on my own too. It's unfair to expect you to carry my load as well, and if I remember correctly, we both said that we will work on ourselves during this time apart, " Cyrus says.
"Yes, I did, but I can't leave the others without a leader. They need guidance, Cyrus," I said.
"There are so many capable people,if they want,who can be their leader. I'd think you would jump at the chance of a new life not just for you, but your mother, for Izzie. Yet you are so concerned about the game," She says,before continuing.
"The offer still stands Rider, think about,"Cyrus said, walking away.

Deep down, I knew she was right. The life I'm living is dangerous, to say the least. I could learn a thing or two from my father when he gave it all to Cyrus just to protect us.

Am I seriously considering this?
