This is for the people who feel unheard,This is for the people who feel less seen.
This is for the people who feel crazy,
Society always says,
"The grass is always green on the other side",
But that is such a cliche,
The other side is probably worse which makes you want to hide.
This is for the people who feel lost,
This is for the people who feel denied,
by society, I know what it feels like to question life,
See we are the people with a lot of pride,
We walk around with the devil on both shoulders,
We are the children who were misguided,
Some of us are successful,
Others were not,
Either way,
We are the underdogs,
The underdogs that continue to fight.
We are all on a tightrope,
Trying to hold on for dearly life.
We are the misfits, the mistreated.
We are the outlaws,
We are the ones that your righteous parents warn you about.
The ones that creep late at night,
Trying to quiet the thoughts.
Some have fallen from the tightrope,
Don't be scared, we don't bite.
We are different from the rest,
We are not what society makes us seem.
This is our reality,
We did not choose to be different,
We were born to stand out.
This is for the people who struggle
with mental illness,
This is for the people who struggle
with different disabilities from physical to invisible,
This is the less unfortunate,
The ones who struggle to get out of bed.
This is for the people who know,
Each day will be pain, but still choose to stay.
I want you all to know,
I see you,
I hear you,
I believe in you.
One day at a time,
We will all get to the finish line.
