The bride
°•○●♡●○•°I never in my life believed that I would come to a truce with the one man I decided to declare as my enemy.
It wasn't a complete truce to be fair, more like a forced bond until we find Romano.
As we sat around a table we merged our separate teams.
On my side, I had Sofia, the head of my security, and Lorenzo, the best driver I had.
I crossed my legs as I took in Rossi's side. He, in his tailored suit, sat opposite me, and Dante, without a jacket or a tie, sat opposite Sofia.
I watched them carefully as Sofia sent them a glare Rossi was already getting sick of.
"I believe we all know why we're here today," Rossi says as Lorenzo nods, not taking his eyes off either of them.
I look closely at Dante once again. With his thick light brown hair and dark blue eyes, he was a shade opposite of Rossi, yet they looked more like him than his actual brother.
Antonio.
I miss him at times.
Remembering all the short-lived fun I had with him, I wish it lasted longer.
I miss the roses, his smile, and that one kiss we shared. And I can't help but wonder if there could've been more.
I miss his scent, and his brown eyes admiring me in such a soft way.
I do miss him.
I brushed the memories away, leading all my attention to the discussion in front of me.
Rossi's eyes are set on me, gazing at me as he continues explaining the terms and conditions of the plan.
His eyes would glance at Lorenzo, but his gaze would return to me as quickly as it left.
"... you'll have access to all the security and training stations owned by the mafia to help provide better sources of information about Romano," his voice fades into the room as I finally start listening to him.
We finish the agreement, promising to work in unity until further notice, before leaving the room in silence.
As I walk out a voice calls out from behind me.
"Valentine's!" Dante calls and I turn around with an unimpressed look.
He comes close behind me as I wait for him to say what he has.
"It's Valentino," I roll my eyes.
"Same thing," he shrugs and my face widened in shock before I scoff. He chuckles along and gives me a friendly smile I return.
"I just wanted to say that you don't have to worry about your safety around here anymore," he nods and I raise an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?" I check him out for any weapons just to be sure as he smacks his lips.
"I mean to say you just made a deal with the devil. There's no way he, or anybody else for that matter, will make an effort to harm you in any way." He rolls his eyes as he explains the situation to me. He also murmurs something to himself I can't hear.
It's not like I need to know that. Even if I was in said danger, he should know better than anyone that I am capable of protecting myself just fine.
I understand that for the time being Rossi won't try harming me, but that is only because I can help him with something.
I don't believe that after this he will try to form any kind of friendship with me, and neither do I expect him to.
I would rather put my left hand in fire than have anything to do with Rossi. It's already bad enough that I have to play the wife part.
