The Devil
°•○●♤●○•°Someone got to Maria before I could.
And as much as I hate the person for taking the satisfaction away from me, I also want to thank them for making it easier.
No one can blame me for it now.
I haven't seen Bella today.
I can only imagine how she felt after hearing the news that some psychotic fucker came into her mother's home and slaughtered her in her sleep.
She took twelve stabs in her abdomen, the person already making it fetal with the first attack.
Just now have I realized what a pain in the ass will it be to plan a funeral.
I hate funerals just as much as I hate weddings.
They make me want to take a butter knife up straight and slam my head into it with such force it would make the doctors believe I died from a failed lobotomy.
Of course, I always believed my death would be much more badass. Something to be remembered by.
Such as getting killed by the pretty brunette I married a couple of months ago.
Maria is a pure example of why I live every day to the fullest, working my ass off until all I can see are numbers and corpses I kill. Because I never know when it will be my last day.
I had to be remembered. I craved it. I was forgotten as a child, having to earn my parent's attention by doing something extraordinary.
Even then I wouldn't get the approval I so desperately needed.
A barge in my room interrupts my thoughts.
It was Lorenzo, standing breathlessly at the entrance of my bedroom.
His dark complexion turned pale as his wide eyes stared at me with fear.
But he wasn't scared of me.
I furrow my brows in confusion as he starts stuttering some nonsense.
"Where is Bella?" is the first question I ask him. He was assigned to take care of her after she found out about her mother's fate.
They knew each other longer, him being with her since the start of her training. They grew up together, and since I found out that information I believed it for the best if he stayed with her.
I left Sofia to handle the inspection of the murder scene. She was very skilled at cleaning after murder crimes, great at erasing evidence, but even better at finding it.
Although I wished to move on from Maria's sudden death and forget all about it, I knew my Bella would be suspicious of it.
"I lost her." Lorenzo finally answers my question as I stare at him in shock, still deciding if I want to strangle him or make him find her, then go on with the first option.
I settle on neither, knowing it will make Bella even more upset than she already is.
This is bad. Dangerous.
She is unstable at the moment. She just lost a parent she looked up to. She could harm anyone she comes across and I am not in the mood for finding new staff.
A part of me wants to believe she wouldn't do that. She was trained for thirteen years, but that doesn't mean she was trained well.
Her purpose was to kill, and then be human.
I rush past Lorenzo and he follows behind quickly.
"How the fuck did you happen to lose a human fucking being!" I yell as my steps grow faster.
