The Bride
°•○●♡●○•°

Grief is an unexpected feeling. You never know when you're going to have to experience it.

It will also never leave. Once you feel it for the first time it will never truly die down. You will just have to learn how to live with it unil it's nothing more than a dull throb in your chest.

This wasn't the first time I was left grieving, but it was the hardest it hit me.

Mamma was dead, and so were twenty men because of that. I can't recall what exactly happened. My mind went blank at some point, making it difficult to even remember I did that.

But just like the last time, footage of security cameras showed the truth.

I needed to get a hang of this because this isn't working.

I'm slaughtering people left and right and my lack of self-control isn't exactly helping.

I sat in the first row as men carried my mother's casket. To think that her body was inside felt surreal.

It also felt weird when I looked at her pale face in the hospital. It didn't ring to me that this was going to be the last time I ever saw her.

She was everything to me, she kept me away from my father's abusive training methods and helped me gain some sort of consciousness after he left.

Now she was gone.

It was after everyone left. Sofia and I kneeled by the grave, humming a song for only us and mamma to hear.

My black dress pooled around the ground as I kneeled before the grave.

I'm going to miss her.

Sofia and I made our way back home, seeing some of our friends on the couches of the living room.

They attended the funeral with us, and seemingly some of them already left.

I sat next to Giana, one of my oldest friends. She stretched out her shoulder, letting me rest my heavy head on it.

She rested her against mine, giving me comfort while soothing the palm of my hand.

Next to her sat Adeline Black, my good friend, and mafias legal business partner.

She didn't know how deep the Valentino business dug, but it wasn't for her to know.

She glared at the couch opposite to ours, where Dante sat and spoke with a tall attractive man, known for his deep Russian roots.

With killer amber eyes and blonde hair, Nico Ivanov was a close friend of Rossi, and their business was led not only going through the legal process.

He knew how to keep a secret, knew how to make everything he did seem legal while it was, in fact, the complete opposite.

He had an army of lawyers behind him, making sure that he never got guilty in whatever trial went against him.

There was, however, one thing I knew about him for sure, you didn't want to be his enemy.

And my poor Addie was setting herself up for failure with the rivalry she was putting against him.

"I think we should ask Theo about that," Dante says before looking around, growing more confused as his eyes scan the room.

"Where is Theo anyways" he asks before looking at me. I do nothing but shrug before taking my phone out and pressing his name in my contact list

He was lying under me. His limp body slowly gave up on him.
