Allen had been starving the last couple of days, his human stopped going to work and had been home all week and he had no chance of going out to borrow food.

Today, he had to venture out to the small balcony to try and take a berry off the small plant. Almost getting eaten by a bird. So that was a no.

He had to make a trip to the kitchen, to the pantry, it was in a closed cabinet he had a back entrance to. But he had to wait just for the right time to come out.

In the day, his human slept but he didn't want to come out during the light hours. At night, his human played his electric guitar. Playing the loud noises hurt Allens ears but it was something he was willing to bear, he was ashamed to say but he even enjoyed the music sometimes.

His human would also play music on the speakers some days so he would be fully distracted. Allen had been waiting for one of those days.

Allen knew nothing about his human, he had moved in very recently and he almost never talks in the house nor brings anyone over. Allen genuinely wondered whether this guy had anyone else in his life. Kinda like himself, Allens parents had passed of sickness and his brother had disappeared that same day.

Since then he's been alone. Wondering if his brother will ever come back.

Suddenly, Allen jumped at the loud music being played from the speaker system. It was actually a song his human had been playing quite often and Allen didn't mind it at all, he could even say he liked it.

He snapped back, that means, his human is distracted. He can go venture for food. He's never tried this before but he was too hungry to be picky. At this point getting caught would be a much quicker death than starvation.

It was kind of a borrower rule to 'not be seen by humans' but as the years passed of him being alone he started to wonder whether he should see for himself, after all, his life was shit anyways. It was better to try and die than live alone and scared. But he always stopped himself just before.

He grabbed his makeshift bag and put on his boots ready to head out of his burrow in the kitchen wall. He had made a direct entrance to the kitchen pantry just into the snack drawer. His favorite was a small circular crispy honey snack. He just wanted one of those.

As he climbed the pins on the wall or, 'stairs' as he called them the music got louder. Without realizing he was humming along to the music as he went inside the drawer. He held his LED light in his hand to use as a flashlight the small light illuminating the rows of boxs lining the drawer.

Allen went one by one trying to find his favorite snack. He found it! The box containing the crisps was quite short and just the rigth hight for him to reach. As he started taking off the lid of the box he was suddenly exposed to light, and was pushed back with a swift motion. What was happening?

It all happened so quick, and when he got up rubbing his head he was faced with a pair of blue marbles staring down at him with a mouth agape.

A human.

His human.
