Six: The Night of the Comet

Hospital

Matt is waiting with Vicki when she wakes up, scared and confused.

"Whoa! Vick. Vicki, hey. Vick, it's Matt. Hey, what's wrong?" Matt says as he grabs her, hoping to calm her down.

"No! No! Get off! No! No! No!" Vicki fights back, not really seeing who's around her. "Nurse!" Matt looks at her worried before leaving the room. Once he's gone, Stefan comes in.

He looks onto Vicki's eyes. "It was an animal that attacked you. It came out of the night and jumped you. You blacked out. It's all you remember."
"It's all I remember." Vicki repeats in a monotone voice.

He could care less if she remembered. She's the town druggie. No one would believe her if she ran around screaming vampire. But for some reason Damon wanted him to do this.

Stefan guesses that it makes it more fun for him.

Stefan continues to compell her "An animal attacked you. You blacked out. It's all you remember." Vicki once again repeats it, in a monotone voice.
"It's all I remember."

Satisfied that the compulsion should last for a few days, Stefan leaves.

"Nurse! I need help! It's my sister." Matt says only to see Vicki back in bed.

Matt sees someone leaving. He furrows his eyebrows before deciding to follow. Matt ends up following them to a room with blood donors and blood bags.. He looks around confused, not seeing anyone.

Mystic Grill

"Well, I was talking to Grams, and she said the comet is a sign of impending doom. The last time it passed over Mystic Falls, there was lots of death. So much blood and carnage, it created a bed of paranormal activity." Bonnie says as she smiles in amusement. Her Grams always told her dramatic stories when she was drunk.

Caroline laughs jokingly, "Yeah, and then you poured Grams another shot and she told you about the aliens." Caroline turns to Phaedra with a mischievous smile. "So then what?"

Phaedra gives Caroline a look before responding, "So then nothing." Caroline was going to continue talking when Elena said something. "You and Stefan talked all night? There was no sloppy first kiss or touchy feely of any kind?"

Phaedra and Caroline shared a look before Phaedra answered, "Nope. We didn't go there." Elena raises an eyebrow at that.

"Not even a handshake?" Elena said as she made sure her voice didn't give away how happy she felt. Stefan clearly doesn't like Phaedra and she can still have him.

Phaedra rolled her eyes at Elena. "No? What would a handshake accomplish? I've already met him." Elena blushed in embarrassment as Caroline snickered.

Bonnie glanced at the three of them before deciding to stay out of it.

Phaedra turned back to Caroline. "We talked for hours. Getting to know each other."

"Ok, what is with the blockage? Just jump his bones already! It's easy. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, sex!" Caroline says as she gives her a playful wink.

Bonnie let's out a snort as she mutters, "Profound."

Elena inwardly scowls at Caroline's advice. Stefan couldn't have sex with Phaedra! Stefan belongs to her! Elena gets up without thinking, intending to quickly get to the boarding house.
