The dense forest provided a stark contrast to the high-tech, sterile environment of the Ludic compound. As Meera and Vivaan stumbled through the underbrush, the sounds of pursuit grew louder. The guards were close, but Meera was determined to make it out alive with Vivaan.

The forest floor was uneven and treacherous, filled with roots and rocks that threatened to trip them with every step. Meera's mind raced as she plotted their course. They needed to create some distance and find a defensible position.

"Vivaan, we need to move faster," she urged, her voice strained with worry.

Vivaan, despite the pain from his gunshot wound, nodded grimly. "I'll do my best."

Suddenly, a volley of gunfire shattered the silence. Meera pulled Vivaan behind a large tree trunk just in time, bullets splintering the wood around them. She peeked out, spotting the advancing guards, and returned fire, her shots precise and lethal.

The forest erupted into chaos. Meera and Vivaan moved from tree to tree, using the natural cover to their advantage. Meera's sharpshooting skills kept the guards at bay, but their numbers seemed endless. She could feel Vivaan's strength waning, his movements growing sluggish.

"Hold on, Vivaan. We're almost there," she said, trying to keep him motivated.

They reached a small clearing and Meera knew they had to make a stand. She positioned Vivaan behind a large boulder and took up a defensive position. The guards burst into the clearing, and an intense firefight ensued.

Meera's movements were fluid and precise, each shot finding its mark. Vivaan, using the last of his strength, provided support, his shots less frequent but no less deadly. The clearing became a battleground, filled with the sounds of gunfire and shouts.

As the last of the guards fell, an eerie silence descended on the forest. Meera quickly scanned the area, ensuring there were no more threats. She turned to Vivaan, who was leaning heavily against the boulder, his face pale with pain.

"We need to move," she said, helping him to his feet. "We're almost there."

They continued their journey, the sounds of pursuit now behind them. After what felt like hours, they finally emerged from the forest and made their way to the safety of Meera's hotel. She half-carried, half-dragged Vivaan up to her room, locking the door behind them.

Meera gently laid Vivaan on the bed, her eyes filled with concern. "I need to treat your wound," she said, retrieving the first aid kit from her bag.

As she carefully removed his shirt, she couldn't help but notice how well-built he was. Despite the dire situation, she felt a pang of admiration. She cleaned the wound and applied a bandage, her hands steady and precise.

"Thank you, Meera," Vivaan said weakly, his eyes filled with gratitude.

"You saved me, Vivaan. This is the least I can do," she replied, her voice soft.

Once Vivaan was stabilized, Meera contacted RAW, her heart pounding as she relayed the situation. Her superior's voice crackled over the line, filled with both concern and pride.

"Meera, you did an incredible job," her superior said. "We'll send in a team to handle the rest. You don't need to do anything more."

"But, sir, I—" Meera began, but her superior cut her off.

"No buts, Meera. You've done enough. Get some rest and take care of yourself and Vivaan. We'll take it from here."

Meera nodded, feeling a mix of relief and frustration. She had come so far and done so much, but now she had to trust her team to finish the job. She ended the call and turned back to Vivaan, who was watching her with a tired but appreciative smile.

"You did great," he said softly.

"So did you," Meera replied, sitting down beside him. "Now we just have to wait."

They shared a moment of quiet camaraderie, feeling a sense of accomplishment for what they had achieved together.
