Chapter 4

Mondo was pretty much devastated when he found out Taka was never real. He kept that to himself, though. He wasn't the kind of person to show his problems.

He eventually got over it in a few weeks. And nothing interesting really happened. That is, until...

(Leon): "Yo, have you guys heard of the new student?"

They group sat at the table.

(Mondo): "Nope, didn't even know we had a new student."

(Leon): "Well, apparently we do. Think he's part of the student council or somethin'. He's not in any of our classes, but he'll be at Ibuki's party on Saturday."

Huh. Guess Mondo will have to wait to see who it is. He didn't really know why he was so eager.

|::| TIME SKIP: SATURDAY |::|

Today was the day of the party. Students having fun, playing games, whatever the hell goes on at a high school party. Mondo couldn't find any of his friends, so he just got himself his own drink.

He walked around drinking a cup of Pepsi. He looked around to see if there was any hot chicks/dudes he could pick up. He looked and looked until he saw... him.

Kiyotaka Ishimaru. The one who was just part of his imagination.

Mondo couldn't believe his eyes. He walked up and stood next to him.

For some reason, words weren't really coming out of Mondo's mouth. Mostly because he was nervous.

'Why the hell am I so flustered?!' Mondo thought. He didn't really know how to start the conversation, so he just started simple.

(Mondo): "Hey."

(Taka?): "Hello!"

There was a pause between their conversation. They didn't really know what to say.

(Mondo): "So... uh... do you like Scott Pilgrim vs. The World?"

(A/N: i will never shut up about that movie)

(Taka): "No, I've never heard of it... what is it about though?"

(Mondo): "It's basically about a guy named Scott Pilgrim who wants to date his girlfriend, Ramona Flowers, but he has to date her 7 evil exes in order to do so. It was based off a comic series, which was really good, and there's also a video game and anime version of it. That's how popular it was!"

(Taka?): "Wow... it seems very interesting!"

(Mondo): "Y-Yeah, it was!"

(Taka?): "Hm... Well, it was nice talking to you, but I never got your name... My name is Kiyotaka Ishimaru, though! You can just call me Taka!"

Oh my. He really was real!

(Mondo): "Er.. well, I'm Mondo Owada."

(Taka): "Nice to meet you, Mondo!"

Another pause between the two... Mondo just had something else to say however.

(Mondo): "... Are you real?"

(Taka?): "H-huh?! Did you just ask me if I was real?"

(Mondo): "Uh, no! No! Shit! Sorry!"

(Taka): "No, it's okay! It's fine! And to answer your question, yes, I am real!"

(Mondo): "... Thanks, but I... I gotta go."

(Taka): "Okay! See you later!"

Mondo walked away. He was so embarrassed about that whole thing. He was lost in thought until he spotted Leon alone in the crowd.

Mondo walked over to Leon, and, well, I dunno how to explain what happened, but it went like this.

(Mondo): "Dude!"

(Leon): "What?"

(Mondo): "He's totally real!"

(Leon): "...Who?"

(Mondo) "Yknow! Kiyotaka Ishimaru! That guy that I told you about!"

(Leon): "Oh shit, that was his name? Damn, though he sounded familiar!"

They talked for the rest of the night. After Leon left, Mondo went back up to Taka.

(Mondo): "Hey, again..."

(Taka): "Oh! Hello! Did you need something?"

(Mondo): "Well, I just wanted to ask I-if I could get your number? Yknow, so we could talk more?"

(Taka): "Of course! It's xxx-xxxx-xxx!"

(Mondo): "Alright, thanks."

After that, Mondo walked away, left the party, went home and couldn't sleep because he was too busy thinking about Taka. Good thing it was Sunday tomorrow...
