"We don't need to. We just need a safe place to hold up" Annabeth says
"Who knows where a safe place is to hold up?" I ask as I tap my fingers against my legs.
"I do" Annabeth proudly says, okay, main character moment?
"Please share with the class" I encourage, and watch her intently.
"A sanctuary, dedicated to Athena, built by one of her demigod children a long time ago" She explains
"There is a Athenian temple hidden somewhere? In the middle of downtown St. Louis?" Grover muses
"Yes" Annabeth nods her head, "Except its not all that hidden" she looks up at a huge gateway arch. Holy shit, I did not even see that
We all walk up closer, and head into the museum type building next to it, "Its 630 feet wide, 630 feet tall, both to within and inch. Its got no internal support. Each side is balanced perfectly against the other. the arch is held up by symmetry. Its help up by math" Annabeth stops her rant, when she sees me with wide eyes, pretending to write down the stuff she is saying.
"Please, keep going professor Chase! I wanna get an A on the test!" I smile brightly, and hold my fake pencil in my hand.
"Shut the fuck up" Annabeth curses, and glares at me
"Language, young lady" I scold her, and she punches me hard in the arm. Causing me to laugh, but the smile falls quickly off my face.
We walk through a crowd of kids, "-and its earthquake-proof, so Poseidon cant ruin it"
"Damn" I look at Percy with disappointment, "I thought your dad was cool"
"Shut up" He glares at me playfully, I just roll my eyes.
"Excuse me" Annabeth says as we walk through more crowds of kids, "This is how you show Athena your love. I monument to the power of perfection"
Grover looks at some of the paintings of people killing animals, "its a monument to some other stuff too" He sadly says. On display there are shotguns, and some sculls of dead animals.
