On the fourth day, once all the men had arrived, they set out to the south of the country. It was there that they found a cavern and inside was a pool.
It wasn't far from camp, it was peaceful. The creatures of the night sang their songs as Akaashi entered the water, the cold surface caused him to shiver as it touched his bare skin.
He had gone without Bokuto that night, trying to calm his mind. Thoughts of his parents back home, and what lay ahead; worried him. But it was quiet here, and he could relax.
He stood in the water for a moment before diving in, allowing the cold water to cool his body.
Minutes may have passed before he heard something behind him.
'Sorry, did I disturb you?' Bokuto asked.
Akaashi stood, his back facing him, he turned his head to see the man standing wide-eyed, 'No it's fine.'
A moment passed before Bokuto spoke again, 'Can I join you?'
'Yes.'
Bokuto gave him a gentle smile before shaking off his robe. He still kept some distance from Akaashi.
'Come over here,' Akaashi said. Bokuto did as he said, walking towards him, 'Your hair looks different,' he said, bringing a hand up at that moment and pushing it away from the others forehead, his golden eyes staring at him.
'Is it?' he whispers.
Akaashi nodded, then brought his hand down to his jaw, 'You've grown some hair here,' his fingers traced it lightly.
'I've been meaning to shave it.'
'Keep it, I like it,' He took a single breath, 'I want...' his voice trailed off. He sighed, running his fingers through his hair, 'Never mind.'
'What do you want?' Bokuto asked, approaching him.
'You... I want you and only you.' he said, his voice quieter now, 'I hope you know my entire sky craves only your star'
'That's very poetic of you, Akaashi.'
Akaashi laughed, 'I suppose it is, isn't it?'
Bokuto grabbed his chin, turning his face towards him, 'I want you too. You know that right?'
Akaashi felt his cheeks flush, his eyes trailing from the golden eyes in front of him to plump lips. 'Yes,' he whispered, 'I know.'
Bokuto's lips captured his. It was soft, gentle– almost like he thought that he would shatter Akaashi at any given moment.
His hand traced across Bokuto's collarbone; his skin was warm to the touch. He leaned more into the kiss, tasting the wine he had drunk just before Akaashi had left; sweet like berries.
Bokuto moved his lips down to his neck, across his chest. Akaashi trembled under his touch. He had said his name, softly as he breathed. It caused Bokuto to smile.
Akaashi felt Bokuto's hands move down his side, a gentle thumb rubbing one side as the other took him in his hand. Akaashi felt his face twist in pleasure.
His hand went up, gripping white hair as he begged him not to stop. His eyes fluttered shut as his breaths shortened before it turned into quickening gasps.
Akaashi had always been good with words, and yet he found himself speechless.
