10 YEARS LATER

It had been ten long years since Vivaan and I had started dating. From high school sweethearts to inseparable partners, we had shared countless memories together. Our love had blossomed into something truly special, something that I believed would last a lifetime.

However, fate had other plans for us. My parents, being successful businessmen, viewed Vivaan's family as their competition. They made it clear that they would never approve of our relationship, let alone our marriage. I was torn between following my heart and obeying my parents' wishes. In the midst of this turmoil, my ex-boyfriend, Ayaan, resurfaced. He had cheated on me in the past, but my parents saw him as a more suitable match due to his family's connections.

Reluctantly, I agreed to marry him, hoping that it would bring an end to the chaos surrounding me.On the day before my wedding, I met Vivaan for one last time at our favorite spot beside the lake. The sun was setting, casting a golden hue over the water as we sat in silence, lost in our own thoughts

.Vivaan broke the silence, his voice filled with sadness. "Alisha, I never thought we would end up like this. I always imagined us together, watching the sunset every evening just like this."

I nodded, "I know, Vivaan. But my parents have made their decision, and I have to follow it."

He reached out and took my hand in his, his touch sending shivers down my spine. "I will never forget you. You will always have a special place in my heart, no matter where life takes us."

Tears welled up in my eyes as I struggled to keep my composure. "I will never forget you either, Vivaan. Our love will always be a part of me, no matter what happens."

As we watched the last rays of sunlight disappear beyond the horizon, I knew it was time to say goodbye. We hugged each other tightly, as if trying to hold onto each other for a little while longer.

"Goodbye" I whispered, my voice choked with emotion.

"Goodbye, Alisha," he replied, his voice equally strained. "I hope that someday, we will find our way back to each other."

With a heavy heart, I turned and walked away, leaving him behind. As I drove to the wedding venue the next day, I couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that consumed me. The ceremony passed by in a blur, and before I knew it, I was standing before Ayaan, exchanging vows that held no meaning for me.

Days turned into weeks, weeks turned into months, and months turned into years. I went through the motions of life, but my heart remained with Vivaan, the man who had captured my soul in ways I couldn't explain.

Years later, as I sat on the same spot beside the lake where Vivaan and I had said our goodbyes, the question still lingered in my mind –

Would we ever reunite again?
