Percy's Secret Identity

Winter Break, Part 1

When they were at the temple they could barely believe that they had gotten away with it, their pulse had been high ever since they had written their names on that paper. They hadn't been able to eat and the little Percy managed to got back up as soon as they got back to their dorm. They had been lucky enough to get their things in time but what if their plan failed and he had to spend his break at home? What if their teachers found out that they were not on the train and started to look for them? What if they didn't have enough food? What if-? The questions of what could go wrong was the only thing they could think about, Jonathan was constantly whipping his hands on his shirt or trousers, everyone had tried to get him to stop but when it was time to go to Hagrid to get on the train they were all whipping off the sweat.

The plan was to get hold of Hagrid's list that contained all of the names of all the children that were going home, find their names and cover them up so Hagrid thinks that he had written the wrong names or something, then escape from the group and then get to the temple. They had decided that it was Percy who was going to scribble all over their names, he was small and sneaky, the others were going to stand in a way so the others wouldn't notice. They had been practising during the day to walk in a way to hide Percy and they thought they had perfected it, in reality it was just good enough.

Percy had on normal jeans, a black shirt and normal looking black shoes, he put his hair in a tight bun in the back of his head, nothing extravagant today. He was blending in as well as he could, the others did as well but they were careful not to match each other as much as possible. They also wore dark clothes so they were not seen since they were going to the train during the evening when it had gotten dark out.

When the time came for Percy to take the list his mouth went dry, he needed to do this perfectly or he risked being forced to spend Christmas at the borrow. They were at the front of the line near Hagrid, they had only been walking for 30 seconds when Percy put his hand in his front pocket they all knew it was time, they as naturally as they could walked in a way to cover Percy. Percy without looking put his little hand in Hagrid's jacket pocket and he found the list pretty fast, he took it out and without putting his head down too much started to look for their names. Hagrid had put down the first years names first so finding their names was easy, he took out his pen from his backpocket and started to scribble over it, as he did that John and Jonathan started to talk to make the noise from the pen a little less loud. Then he put it back in Hangrid's jacket.

Slowly they started to walk slower and slower until they had gotten to the back of the line, then when everyone got to the boats they were kind of close to the forest. And now it was time for the leap of faith, at first they just walked, then as soon as they got to the first tree they bucked it. They ran and ran in the direction of their headquarters, they had no idea if they had gotten away or if someone saw them.

They didn't unpack their things for several hours to make sure that they had gotten away with it, Oro had his watch with him and when he told them that it was midnight they felt safe enough to start to unpack their things. They had used a spell that makes things very small so when they packed everything, their luggage looked like everyone else's. They had packed mattresses, pillows, blankets, clothes (Only sweatpants, sweatshirts, hoodies) and Percy bought Walnut's things.

They decided to place their mattresses in a place that was close to the lake, but they managed to find a place where some of the roof was still over them so snow or rain would not get on them. They had a lot of food with them. They had managed to sneak into the kitchen when everyone was sleeping, including the house elves, and put food they had cooked into different small plastic boxes. Then they had shrunken it down like the other stuff. And then they had the snacks Finn's parents had sent them. So they had food for the week. When they put everything in its right place they just started to talk about everything they had just done, they still had some adrenaline in their veins.

Percy was on the right side away from the rest, Finn was beside him, then beside him there was a double mattress where John and Jonathan were sleeping, then there was Oro beside them. Percy placed Walnut's bed in the middle between him and Finn.

-Hey Finn, you haven't told us how we will get back?' Jonathan asked Finn and Finn was quiet for like five seconds before he answered.

-I didn't think about that...' Everyone looked at him with their months open and their eyes wide.

-What do you mean "I didn't think about that"?!' John nearly yelled at him, Jonathan at that moment just wished he had just gone home.

-Hey, hey, don't yell at me!' Finn put up his hands in defence and when they seemed to back off he put them down. 'We have all break to figure out what to do with that, so don't panic'

Percy and Oro looked at each other, Percy with panic in his eyes and Oro had a look of reassurance on his face. Oro was angry with Finn too but he knew that he also was right.

-Yeah, it's good that we asked you now instead of at the end of the break' Oro managed to calm everyone down, then he pointed at Finn. 'We will come up with a good plan tonight so we can rest for the rest of the break.'

Percy took his bag and went to change into something more comfortable than his jeans. He wasn't bothered by the cold, when he was a merman he never felt weather cold nor warm, but as a human he can feel it but it just doesn't bother him. He changed into a pair of blue sweatpants and a green hoodie, then he walked back to his mattress and took off his winter boots and just played with Walnut's until everyone was asleep.
