Izzie's POV
We got to the party already a bit tipsy. Well, I was. I wanted to get my mind off all the stress. I knew this wasn't the right way to do so, but I'm 20, give me a break.
I played a round of beer pong with my drinking buddy, Gabbie. She was always down for a drinking game. We won, of course. Basketball does have its benefits off the court, you know. I couldn't help but look for a certain someone the entire night. Every time I turned to look at Cait, I was immediately met by her eyes that followed me through any room I went into. She didn't really look like she was having fun, though.
"Hey, you having a good time?" I asked once I followed her gaze.
"Yeah, yeah, it's fine." She replied acting very dry.
Why did she always turn this cold when things started going so well between us?
Caitlin's POV
My eyes always found their way to her. She was so addicting to just look at.
"Yeah, yeah, it's fine" I tried to respond without showing her how a single word she uttered made me melt.
"Wanna go dance? I love this song!" She asks as Sparks fly from Taylor Swift starts playing.
Her eyes lit up and all I wanted to do was make her happy. But my stupid brain decided against that.
"Im good, you should go through,"
She looked so disappointed. I felt my heart drop as she mumbled an "okay" and turned to go in the crowd. How stupid am I? Before I could even realize it, the alcohol in me made my legs follow her. I was pushing through the 20-something people that separated us. There she was, smiling and singing along with the loud music. The butterflies flew rent-free through my stomach right now. She opened her eyes and her smile grew 10 times bigger when she saw me standing there, smiling like an idiot. She grabbed my hands and led me to move with the rhythm.
3rd person POV
Nobody could deny how the two girls were instantly connected at this time. They danced like no one was watching while the opposite was happening. Everyone who walked by had no choice but to admire the cute couple that seemed to shine. The alcohol swayed through their veins making each look between them deeper and deeper. Caitlin was completely engulfed with Izzie. While the shorter girl was a little too drunk to walk straight, she could not deny the attraction they tried to hide for so long.
"Cait, I really like you, you know," Her words echoed in Caitlin's mind. The fear that only the alcohol is talking scares her.
"You aren't too bad yourself, Mayfield."
"No, Cait, I mean it. I like you, like a lot." Izzie's words slurred a little but we all know she had been waiting so long to get that out of her system.
"Come on, pretty drunk girl let's get you sat," Caitlin grabbed her waist and pulled her close to guide her to a nearby couch.
They both sat down comfortably on the red couch. Izzie reached for comfort on Cait's shoulder. She rested her head there before she was woken by a commotion.
"Truth or dare, baby!" Jada comes out from behind them, making Kate, Gabbie and a couple other people from the party gather around their couch.
"I think Izzie and I will pass, J," Caitlin says motioning to the girl who was basically asleep on her shoulder.
"Oh, no! Im not missing out on truth or dare, Caiti!" She protests raising her head to be only a few centimetres away from her person.
They stayed like that for a couple of seconds before the game started and gained back their attention.
