Vol 1 Root

Itachi's pov

I quickly moved my sword up to block the blade of the first ROOT ANBU that made his move towards me. As our blades connected Shisui moved to slice the ANBU's neck open. My eyes scanned the area as I saw 20 of the ANBU rush at us at once. I quickly went through hand signs and used the body replacement technique to switch with a leaf behind one of the ANBU at the back and as soon as I was behind the ANBU I drove my sword right into his back, stabbing his heart.

The ROOT ANBUS soon took notice of me and some began to rush at me while the others kept rushing at Shisui who was cutting them down just as I was.

I had to duck under the sword of a ROOT member and as I went up I pushed my chakra into my sword and I sliced upwards, cutting the ROOT ANBU in half. Another one came charging at me and I blocked his sword with my own but my eyes widened when I noticed the explosion tags on his sword.

BOOM

An explosion went off, killing the ROOT ANBU but I was able to use the body replacement technique to get away from the blast. I quickly went through hand signs as I noticed 4 ROOT ANBUS rushing at me.

"Fire Style, Fireball Jutsu!" I said as a large ball of fire escaped my mouth and headed towards the ANBUS.

"Earth Style, Earth Wall" I heard an ANBU say as an earth wall came up to block my fireball. As the fireball connected with the wall an explosion went off causing a medium size cloud of smoke to fill up the field. I used this to my advantage and rushed forward.

I quickly went into the smoke and right before I appeared in front of the four ANBU I threw my sword, pushing my chakra into it so it could move faster. My sword stabbed right into the neck of one of the ANBU, killing him. As I appeared from the cloud of smoke the other three ANBU were ready to lunch at me but I quickly threw 2 kunai with explosive tags at them. My kunai stabbed into two of their stomachs and their insides were splattered everywhere as the two kunai exploded. The last ANBU went to stab me but I looked into his eye and quickly put him under my genjutsu. I then quickly grabbed my sword and sliced the ANBU's head clean off.

I noticed the 37 more ANBU's surrounding me. None of them chose to make the first move. These people have no fear, Danzo made sure to get rid of any emotion they may have. So I can only assume they're thinking about how they're going to be able to win against me. I quickly went through hand signs and created four shadow clones of myself. Then in perfect sync we all went through the hand signs needed to perform the fireball jutsu

"Fire Style, Fireball Jutsu." Me and each of my clones said as 5 large fireballs were made and in a perfect circle moved towards the ROOT ANBUS. A huge explosion went off, as the trees began catching on fire. I saw 6 out of the 37 ANBU body's on the floor burning. The forest was now burning, smoke filled the air. Making it harder for the ANBU to see but due to my sharingan I was able to see just fine.

Suddenly everyone's attention including mine was turned towards the green susanoo that appeared from the smoke. Its yellow glowing eyes gave it a scary look to it as its glowing eyes was all you could see clearly from the fire filled air. Seems like Shisui is going all out already. Most of the ANBU didn't have time to react as the giant green susanoo appeared in front of them, its giant spear coming down slaughtering them. It seems like Shisui used the body flicker technique while having his susanoo activated. I couldn't help but let a tiny smile come to my face. He's just as creative as Kiyotaka.

Blood began to fill the trees and the ground as Shisui kept using the susanoo's spear to cut right through people. I quickly turned to block the sword of an ANBU who was aiming to cut my neck open. As I looked into the eye holes on his mask I couldn't help but notice that he had his eyes closed. Was he using his sensory abilities to see?
