Only after a majority of the boxes were emptied and folded into a pile by my bedroom door, I was satisfied. Pushing off my knees to stand from the floor, I looked at my non-semi room now. Placing my hands on my hips, I observed from corner to corner of my room, making sure everything was finally in its place.
Taking a walk around, I started by plugging in the fairy lights that hung from my window across my bed. They lit up the wall in a golden hue, I smiled, plopping down on the bed to rest for a moment. I still had to build my desk from back home, and it sat unceremoniously off to a corner all taken apart. I'd have to get Dad to help me rebuild it. The one thing Dad did build was my dresser, in the tippy top of the drawer, sat all my underwear along with socks. The second drawer contained all my clothes for the rest of the winter.
I put jackets, dresses, belts, and accessories on clothing holders. Placing each one by one into the small room-ed closet, shutting the door, I moved to gather the flattened cardboard boxes. It took about two trips down the stairs, to go outside to put the cardboard into a recycling bin in the backyard of the house. We didn't have one back in the village. It even had a porch! I think my favorite part, though, was the bench swing, I couldn't wait to use it when the air got warm enough for me to comfortably sit outside.
Heading back upstairs, I dug through the last box that just contained a selection of Polaroid photos. I hung up some photos of my Dads and me over my bed. As I did, I noticed some photos from back in private school when I had to wear a uniform.
The private school had been so much different from going to public. For one, I lived on campus in dorms with a few other girls. We weren't allowed to leave the building, of course. The uniforms were stylish enough, at least. Home also hadn't been so cold in the winter. It was always sunny in the village we barely had any weather distribution due to the village being sat in a valley extending behind the Wailing Alps, we got snowfall from the outskirts of the mountains occasionally, but it was never too serious.
