Daisy's POV
I watch as Draco basically runs out of the dining hall. There's a few first year Ravenclaw's sitting around me all chatting. A small black-haired girl asks me a couple questions about my accent and how Ilvermorny was. Before I know it, dinner is finished, and we are being led to the Ravenclaw dorm. The common room is looks like a mini library with desks and books everywhere. A girl in my year leads me over to the girl's side.
"They weren't really expecting you, so you get to have the prefect room since we don't have a girl prefect this year." she says her curly black hair bouncing with every step she takes. She points at my door and then disappears into her own room. I cautiously open the door to a massive room with a king size bed and an empty bookshelf. There's other knick knacks across the room and it's decorated in the royal blue color of our house. I smile to myself. I wish my aunt could see this. My smile falls as I think about her. All alone. I walk to the private bathroom and try to shower the feeling away. I scrub and scrub until my skin is red, and I can't see. I realize it's my tears. I pull myself together and get dressed. I slowly open my bedroom door and make my way out of the dorm. I'm wondering around aimlessly when I find myself in what I think is the astronomy tower. I sit on the window ledge letting my legs dangle below me. I let my tears fall. It's silent at first, just me, my tears, and the moon. Then I think more about my aunt and my uncle. The silent tears turn into sobs within 30 seconds. I wrap my arms around myself and let the sorrow come over me when suddenly a strong pair of arms wrap around me and pull me off the ledge. I look up into the eyes of this intruder ruining what was about to be one of my best cry sessions. I'm meant with the familiar blue eyes of Draco Malfoy.
"Sorry." I hiccup. "I didn't see anyone-" another hiccup interrupts me, "when I came up the stairs." He stares in my eyes looking for something.
"What were you doing up here? It's past curfew." he says sternly.
"I, um, nothing." I say quickly trying to wipe my tears without him noticing.
Draco looks out the window of the astronomy tower. I can't tell what he's thinking about. He looks away from the window and clears his throat. "I'll walk you back to your dorm." he says not making eye contact with me. I walk a step behind him trying to think how I clearly pissed him off. We reach the painting that is the entrance to the dorm. He quickly turns and walks back the way we came.
"Draco!" I whisper-shout at him. He turns. "Uh-I'm sorry." I say, not entirely sure what I'm apologizing for. I can see him scoff and shake his head as he turns back to wherever his dorms are. I watch him walk away until I lose sight of him. I turn to the portrait and enter my dorm. I head back up to my room and flop onto my bed, immediately feeling my eyes drift close.
The next morning, I get ready and make my way to the dining hall. By some miracle, I don't get lost. I see my brother waving at me to come sit with him. As I look around the hall I realize all the tables have a mix of kids sitting at them. I sit down next to Harry and say good morning to everyone. I'm still looking around the hall confused and a little excited that you don't have to always sit with your house.
As if Ginny's reading my mind she says, "We only have to sit with our house at sorting ceremony's." I nod my head slowly letting her know that I heard her. The whole time at breakfast Harry's friends are asking me question after question. I try giving Harry, some save me looks but he just stares back and smiles encouragingly.
"So, Daisy," a boy with red hair named Seamus says with a smirk on his face. "You single?" Thankfully before I can respond a bell rings through the castle.
"Oh, piss off Seamus. If she is, she sure as hell wouldn't date you." Ginny says with disgust. She turns to me throwing her bag onto her shoulder and passes my schedule to Hermione. "I'm in Year 6 but you and Hermione have your first 3 classes together, so she'll show you the way." she says smiling at me.
