Sorry there's gonna be a few time skips just bear with me🐻
3 years later...
You'd been spying on these gates for a few days now. It seems like a pretty decent camp. Tall metal walls, electricity, and presumably food and water. You were still worried though. With your time on the road, the amount of good people to bad was discouraging to say the least. You think back to Terminus. It was shear luck that you got out of there alive. The warehouse flooded, making a great distraction as you slipped out the back with the others that were waiting to be killed. These people seemed less suspicious though. You'd seen people come and go. You heard them hosting parties and children playing.
You pulled yourself up from the shrubs and walked out into the road. A man who was standing at the top of the tower immediately pulled his gun to his face to see you through the scope.
"Who are you?" he yells from the tower.
"I'm...just a girl." you look up at him with puppy dog eyes, but he continues to appear very suspicious of you.
He rolls his eyes and hops off the tower. You were right in front of the gate now, waiting for it to open. You were met with a man, probably in his 20s, with short, wavy brown hair and some well-groomed facial hair.
"How'd you find this place?" He glares at you.
"It's not exactly hard to find. I've been walking around these woods for months." He huffs, and holds his hand out for you to shake.
"I'm Spencer. What's your name?" You notice his other hand rests on his gun and you accept the handshake.
"I'm (y/n)...I-I could really use a place to sleep and some food to eat. Even just for a couple nights-" you start to tell him before he interrupts.
"Mmm. No room. We don't take just anyone in for their little sob stories." He shoos you away his hand still resting on his gun cautiously. You give him a dirty look as you turn to leave, until you hear a plea coming from behind Spencer.
"Who is this Spence?" You turn to see an older short woman. She looks very neat wearing a clean button up and some capris.
"She was just leaving mom-" Spencer was cutoff by his mom as she approaches you.
"My name is Deanna. I run this place. Is there anything I can help you with?" she pushes past Spencer and reaches her hand out for a handshake. You accept and smile.
"I'm (y/n). I was just looking for somewhere to rest, and this place seems pretty safe..." Deanna gives you a warm smile.
"Welcome to Alexandria."
Deanna takes you to her house, stylishly cluttered with books and scholarly artifacts.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to do an interview with you. It won't take long. I just like to document all my new residents and visitors." she sets a camcorder up on a tripod and motions for you to sit in her living room before hitting record.
"Whenever you're ready (y/n)." You take a deep breath, thinking of the best way to start.
"I grew up in King County Georgia. I was about 12 when it started. My best friend's mom drove me home early from school because my mom was stuck in traffic on her way from work in Atlanta. But, months went by and I was still home alone, so I learned how to scavenge and kill the walkers. And then one day I found this man and his son. They helped me for a little while and we started to get close but, something happened and I had to split away from them unfortunately. But uh, I decided to head North to find some family in Virginia. I met some really amazing people on the way here. Also some not so amazing people...But ultimately I ended up here." She asks you a few questions and you elaborate on a few parts of your story, like the friends and enemies you'd made along the way.
