A few nights later

You sit around a campfire in the middle of Hilltop with a few others eating some dinner and chatting. You teeter anxiously on the edge of a log as you await the return of Rick and Carl. Carl had joined his dad on a hunt for the missing Saviours, the ones that Henry had let out a day prior. Suddenly, Glenn plops himself down next to you, and holds out his hand, which is full of fresh strawberries.

"Want some?" he asks, and you smile as you take a couple to munch on. Still, you bounce your leg uncontrollably as you sit, unable to stop your mind from racing with horrible scenarios. Glenn notices and puts a hand on your shoulder.

"Hey, don't worry. They'll be back soon I'm sure." you sigh, trying to take his advice, but still feeling a frog in your throat. Glenn thinks for a moment, and then looks at you, a huge smile plastered on his face.

"Hey, did I ever tell you about the time I sent a customer to the hospital while I was delivering pizzas?" You let out a short chuckle and smile at him.

"No, but PLEASE continue." The others around the campfire overhear this and also lean in to listen.

"So I had this friend named Mavis. And her boyfriend cheated on her with this 18 year old, we were all in our 20s by the way. And so being the great friend that I am, I decided to get our other friends together and deliver a pizza to his house. But this pizza we made, let me think, it had mustard, jellybeans, some old frozen chili, dog food, peeps, and some fucking like- napkins that we shredded up and threw on there. 'But Glenn,' you may ask 'Why would he eat a pizza that looks like that? What's the point?' Well of course we hid the toppings under the cheese and burnt the living shit out of it. It was completely unrecognizable, although it did kinda smell like shit. But anyways one of my friends that he never really met went up to the door and said that we ended up having an extra pizza and was offering it for free. So of course this guy took it, and we were all giggling in the car. But then the next morning I get a call from my boss cussing me out and telling me that pizza I delivered last night sent this guy to the hospital because he was uncontrollably vomiting. But the worst part is, it ended up not even being Mavis' ex. It was just some random innocent dude." As Glenn finishes, everyone takes a few deep breaths, their sides still hurting from laughter. 

"Did the guy press charges?" Michonne chimes in, a grin plastered on her face.

"Well actually the guy ended up going to prison. When the ambulance showed up to his house they found human remains hidden under his bed. The guy was a cannibal. So really, I might've saved a few lives." Everyone laughs at Glenn's story, amazed at how interesting his life was, despite being a pizza delivery driver.

Just then you hear the gates open and Carl and Rick walk through, both soaked in blood. You stand up immediately and you and Michonne each rush over to your respective man. Carl reaches out an arm, inviting you in for a hug. Despite the blood, you pull him in close and he gives you a kiss on the top of your head. You look back and see that there's not a single saviour that came back. Your heart drops at the grim reality setting in. They killed them all.

"I need to go shower." Carl says timidly and heads inside. Rick does the same, rushing himself inside before Michonne can get 2 words out of him. You and Michonne exchange looks.

You remain outside by the fire as everyone else heads to bed. You feel a warm familiar hand grace your shoulder and Carl sits down next to you. You look at him wearily and you can see the abject look in his eyes.

"I didn't want to. There was a hoard coming and we rallied the saviours. They were gonna help us take the walkers down, it was perfectly fine. And then my dad started killing them. Just started mowing them down and they fought back and-", he stops himself, sighing as he stares into the fire, "I'm sorry."
