A Battle to Death? 2

Chelsea's POV:

Ruby moves fast and hits me yet it doesn't sting as much as I expected it to. Is this really what I want? ..no, of course not. She punches this time and I don't make a move. I look at her. She's hesitating. "Fight back,.. please" she whispers so quietly I almost don't catch it. My eyes widen. Ruby doesn't want this either. So why are we even fighting?

"Ruby this can't be what you want! We can sort everything out. Please just stop.." I say while Ruby is already making another move. I turn to my mother- No, she doesn't deserve that title. What type of mother makes her own daughter fight her only friend? Going so far as telling her to kill the friend. No, I've had enough. This ends today.

Ruby's POV:

I feel the sting of hitting Chelsea in my hand, my palm to be specific. I go for a punch this time and she doesn't move even an inch. Why? Did you not betray me? Were you not the one that told me to stay away from you?! Why now are you regretting it! Why do I still want to be friends with you after everything! You let me get hurt, you left me behind and let my mother get involved in this. How could you!? Please, please just fight! Prove to me you're a villain. That I was wrong to trust you, and that you deserve these hits and punches."Fight back,.. please" I just want all the hurting to stop. I go for another move

Nerissa's POV:

"Tsk..."This is the most boring fight I have ever seen. A kraken against a mermaid and yet the kraken is winning? Chelsea is my offspring. She should know better and be able to kill any and all creatures I tell her to kill! But now she's standing there taking hit after hit. How dare she tarnish my name, how dare she! Right as I'm about to say something she turns around. My anger magnifies when I see the way she glares at me. I point my arm forward to punish her using the trident and-..."Huh.." I breathe out and my anger turns to confusion "I think you're starting to have some memory loss Nerissa.. maybe you should get that checked out.. Or perhaps it's just a symptom of your old age, hm?" Chelsea says. No, no, no I gave Chelsea the trident. She can't do this to me, she wouldn't dare.

Ruby's POV:

What is she doing? Chelsea swims towards me and I put up 2 of my tentacles to fight. "Ruby, wait" She says. "I'm sorry for letting you down, lying and leaving you to die and well.. all the things that happened" Does she expect me to just accept the apology after everything? My confusion and feelings of distrust must have shown on my face since Chelsea immediately went on. "I don't expect you to forgive me at all but I beg of you, help me defeat who's been tormenting us. Who was the cause of all of this, Nerissa" A second after she says this I see a menacing shadow crawling up behind her. "For now it seems we have to set aside our differences nevertheless this doesn't mean you're forgiven" I say and before Chelsea can even utter another word she gets thrown. As my shock wears down and I notice she's fine I can't help but crack a smile at her surprised face when she realized I didn't warn her. Maybe we'll be fine

Nerissa's POV:

They're having a conversation.. right in front of me. As if I'm but a tiny ant who is no obstacle to their path. Chelsea, you will pay for making me seem weak and inferior! And RUBY, oh you will never see the light of day after i'm done with you. In my rage I catch only Chelsea's last sentence. "who's been tormenting us. Who was the cause of all of this, Nerissa" ME? Now I'm the bad guy? Isn't betraying your mother basically the same as breaking a law? If not it should be. uGH my day just keeps getting worse. I creep up towards the duo. Ruby first I can deal with Chelsea later. I pick up Chelsea and throw her towards the open water. She yelps but doesn't show any other reaction. I turn towards Ruby and notice her smiling towards Chelsea who hadn't seen her yet. Maybe getting to end you myself will be fun after all
