3 days later, 4:27 am

the lighter sparked as you lit your cigarette, it was 4 am and you were standing outside staring out to nothing as you smoked, you were going onto your 3rd smoke in the span of 30 minutes. it was un-healthy, but you didn't know how to cope with knowing that your ex escaped jail and is now roaming places.

you and Sal have been hanging out less; you mostly shut everyone out when shit gets bad. its been a few days since you last went to school and the the last time you had slept; you had a million texts from everyone asking if your okay and to be honest, you weren't. you were always alone when you were younger and wasn't able to express yourself, which led to you to endure your emotions alone; you always felt some sort of comfort in being alone, heck it was all you knew how to comfort yourself.

you shivered as the cold autumn wind blew, it was almost winter and you weren't excited, you were always sensitive to the cold, and apparently it was WAY colder in Nockfell. taking your last drag you dropped it on the ground and squished it, you exhaled the smoke before going back inside.

checking your phone as you got into the elevator, the clock read 4:48 am, you quickly scanned through the new messages you didn't check earlier, some from Ash, a bunch from Larry, and bunch more from Sal. looking what Sal sent, you saw a new message from not long ago.

Sally<3

Sally<3 4:45 am
come to my place? dads not home

the elevator door opened and you walked out, stopping at room 402. you felt bad for pushing away Sal, and you wanted to apologize but you were scared to. looking back at the message you sighed before opening the door to Sals apartment. you walked inside and there you saw Sal sitting on his couch, tv on but playing quietly.

you took off your shoes and awkwardly walked over to the couch and sat down, he glanced over at you as you stared at the cartoons playing on the tv. Sal was deep in thought, he didn't know what to say or how to say it, he was nervous to talk to you after a few days of not seeing each other, or responding to his texts. he was upset with you shutting him out, but he understood why.

the only noise was the tv, Y/n and Sal sat in silence as both didn't know what to say, it was getting unbearable for you. "so...hows everyone?" "they're good, Ash keeps asking if your okay." you felt bad for not responding to Ash, especially since her and Larry were the ones who planned the trip to the fair and you ruined the fun for everyone, thats what you thought. "oh..i'll text her later" you lied as you didn't want to bother Ash, but maybe a small text will be fine.

Sal was fidgeting with his hands, as he tried to say something to you but he didn't want to sound harsh or too straightforward. "why are you avoiding me" he spat out, he fidgeted more as he realized he said it too straightforward. you knew he might ask you that, and you honestly didn't have the answer either.

you tried coming up with a response, but you couldn't think of anything, your mind was blank. you felt bad that you couldn't say anything to Sal, you wanted to but nothing was coming out. the guilt turned into sadness as you sat there, silent. after a few minutes of silence, Sal started to feel bad for asking "you...don't have to say anything if you don't want to...but please don't shut me out-" he looked at you and saw a tear slide down your face, his eyes widened as he didn't want to make you cry. "i-i don't know why i pushed you guys away..but i know i should've just talked to you about it instead of shutting you out." you said as more tears fell. all the emotions you had pushed away started to come out, all the built up sadness, guilt, anger everything.

Sal pulled you towards him, he held you close as you cried and hugged him tightly; even though Sal was a bit upset, he could never get mad at you, ever. he held you tightly thinking if he let go, you would disappear away from him. being in his arms immediately made you feel better, the smell of vanilla radiating off him, it made you forget about your problems.

you calmed down and sat up, wiping away your tears you chuckled "i'm a mess" Sal laughed. "either way your still beautiful." your face flushed as you looked down at your lap. Sal thought for a moment, he was nervous about what his next actions were, but he was also scared. scared of what your reaction would be, he slowly brought his hand to the buckles of his prosthetic and unbuckled the bottom strap. your head shot up and looked at him "what are you doing?" he didn't answer, he moved onto his second buckle and unbuckled it, his mask almost fell before you placed your hands on his mask, preventing it from coming off.

"Sally, you don't have to show me if you're not ready" he just looked at you, he knew he was ready to show you, he was just scared of the outcome. "Y/n...it's okay, i want you to see me" Sal said as he put his hands on yours. you gave him a look making sure he was 100% sure, he nodded as he took his mask off slowly.

once it was fully off he avoided eye contact and looked to the side as you looked at him, finally being able to see his face you stared. his face was covered in scars, some small but there was 3 pretty big scratches across his face. you noticed the scaring around his eye, the longer you compared both of his eyes, you noticed one looked more lively as the other look kinda glossy. thats when you realized he had a glass eye 'so thats why he always got a glass of water when he stayed at my place'

Sal could feel you staring and that made him scared that you're gonna run away from him, or even worse, call him a monster and a freak. he flinched as he felt your hands on his face, you felt his face and could feel the bumps from the scars, and how soft his skin was. finally being able to see him made you adore him even more.

you put both or hands on both side of his face and gently turned his head to look at you, he tried avoiding eye contact but soon locked eyes with you. he saw that you weren't afraid of him and you weren't screaming. he felt relieved that he didn't scare you off; it was silent as the both of you were mere inches away from kissing "your so pretty Sally."

"no i'm not, i'm ugly" he said sadly, your eyebrows furrowed after hearing what he said. "Sal..you're so handsome and i love you so much." you hugged him after saying that, he hugged back instantly and held you tightly. "i love you too Y/n" you smiled as you were in his arms, you don't remember the last time you felt loved, maybe before your mom started drinking, and that was a long time ago.

you let go to check the time, which it was now 5:01 am. "i should probably go now.." i said sadly as i didn't want to leave now. "okay, see you at school in a few hours?" Sal asked and hoped you would say yes as it's been a few days since you were last there. you thought for a moment, you would see Sal again and the others, and you did need to catch up, but there was this fear in the back of your mind about James. "yea sure, i miss the others" i said as i tried not to think about the fear.

Sal smiled, and you could actually see his smile. it made you smile as the both of you got up, he walked you to the door and you said your goodbyes, before he turned around you grabbed him and gave him a quick kiss on his cheek "see you in a few hours" you said before walking to your place. Sal blushed as he went back into his apartment, he was happy that you didn't leave like others have done in the past, he walked to his room smiling as he thought of you.

getting back into your room, you opened your laptop and put on a random movie. you sat in bed watching the movie as you stayed awake till school started, which would make this your 4th day of no sleep. you wondered if you would be able to even do the work you have missed later. maybe Sal and Larry can help me with the extra work.

i have started work for the summer and so updates may be a little slow, but i will try and stay to my regular upload schedule, but sometimes i might not be able to. that's all have a good day/night!
