I live with my brother, (H/n). He always hated me for not meeting my parents' expectations in life. They want me to get perfect scores at my exams and quizzes. Well, so does he.

One time, I was in my room studying, it was around 9:00 in the evening, I suppose. My room door suddenly opened, making a loud 'bang!' sound. I flinched, and looked just to see my brother standing there. He walked to me, slapping my cheek as my head jerked to the side.

“This is all your fault!“ He yelled, as I remained shocked, and speechless from his actions. Then, I slowly raised my hand to touch my stinging cheek from the pain. I hear my parents arguing, and my brother's voice too. My lips quivered, as I opened them to ask him a soft question.

“W-what did I do..?“ I asked, looking at him with teary eyes. He was still mad at me, as he answered me with an angry voice,

“Didn't you hear?! Our parents are arguing because of you! You are a nuisance in this family, a disgrace!“  He said, while letting out heavy breaths.

“Disgrace? Me?! All you guys ever did was despise and hate me! You never appreciated everything I do!“ I yelled back, as he slapped me once again at the cheek, and left my room, slamming the door.

I sat there, with my figure trembling. 𝘔𝘢𝘺𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘵'𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘺 𝘰𝘸𝘯 𝘥𝘦𝘤𝘪𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴. I thought to myself.

As the argument quiet down around 11pm, I went to my closet, and took my bag as I started packing. 𝘐𝘵'𝘴 𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘦. I thought to myself, determined. After packing up, I took a shower first, and dried up, got dressed, and ate. Then, I went to my window, opening it and jumped out, escaping silently from this hell.

And I promised to myself that.. I'll take the hunter exam tomorrow, and achieve my dream..
