Romance is something Lando has adored since he was young, though it doesnt come naturally to him. Hes forgetful, clumsy, bad at keeping secrets, not very crafty, and he can't write for shit. But that doesnt mean he doesn't love trying. Today was the first of February meaning there was 14,days till valentine's day meaning Lando had 14 days to use his (terrible) romancing skills. He had missed out on last year's valentines but he had finally come to terms with his ever growing crush on his teamate, Oscar. Yes it took him almost a year to finally admit it to himself, accepting that the looks he gave Oscar were more than just friendly, and that when his stomach flipped and his heart fluttered at the sight of the aussie, it was not infact sickness.
Lando decided to go the old school route, letters and maybe the occasional gift. So before he had to leave to the MTC he sat cross-legged on the hotel bed,  computer in his lap and began to write a draft, he couldnt use pen and paper, he knew Oscar would immediately recognise his hand writing so printed was the safest way to not be caught instantly. He struggled quiet a bit before settling on a final result, stuffing his computer back into his bag he swung it over his shoulder and headed to the parking lot. The drive was decently short, light traffic but the whole time he felt giddy, thinking about the letter, wondering how Oscar would react to this type of thing. The two often bantered with some subtle flirting from Lando, the younger drivers reactions always made Lando burst into fits of laughter, he would take some time to figure out it was flirting and then a bright blush would creep over his face, often he would retaliate by knocking Lando over the head, it was cute. Finally Lando shoved his way through the MTC's door, for once he was early, which was very out of the ordinary, gaining odd looks from the other people in the corridors. He scurried through the halls till he found the office that had the community printer, trying not to draw suspicion to himself he printed the letter and walked back to his 'office'. He liked to be prepared when it came to this stuff so ealier this week he had hidden a stack of envelopes and dried flowers. Placing the letter neatly into the envelope he sticky taped a small daisy to the front, keeping it closed. Finally done he walked to Oscar's office, knocking lightly on the door. When no one responded he pushed it open slightly double checking no one was inside. He dropped the envelope onto the aussie's desk and wandered back out the room and to wherever he was needed that morning.

Oscar arrived slightly late, rushing to his office to dump his bag only to find the small white letter on his desk. He stood still, scanning the small card before finally taking it in his hands. Gently he removed the flower and opened the envelope, pulling out a small piece of paper.
What was this?
The letter read:

Hello Oscar,
Im not good with writing or talking about my feelings but you deserve to know that I admire you.
You are more than perfect, every part of you is flawless, your hair, your face, your chest, your waist, your thighs, your legs. I could stare at you all day if I could. Dont ever forget how amazing you are.
From

Oscar stood, re-reading the letter over and over again, each time his face blushed a deeper shade of red till he was painted crimson. This was the last thing he was expecting to find this morning. He looked over it again, now noticing the blank space after 'from'. Who could this be? Was it some sort of prank? He stuffed the letter into his bag before running off to a meeting, this mystery would have to wait.
"I heard you were early today?" Oscar mumbled eyes still locked on his phone as Lando took a seat infront of him. This was the first time this morning they had time to talk, it was break so they met at their usual table in the corner of the cafeteria.
"Arent you proud of me?" Lando grinned in return waiting for Oscar's eyes to leave his phone. The aussie chuckled softly as he turned off his phone,
"I got a letter." A soft pink tint spread over his cheeks as he thought about the note again, the compliments it showered him in, he wasnt used to this type of attention. Lando raised an eyebrow, trying his best to fake confusion and hide the excitement that poured into his words.
"What did it say!?"
"Well it was a love letter, I think.." He leant his chin ontop of his hands, looking down at the table. "Its probably a prank." Lando grimiced internally, of course that was his go to.
"Maybe its not, I mean its almost valentines day.." Oscar looked back up, his eyes meeting Lando's in a small stare off. He broke the silence with a sarcastic sigh.
"I guess you could be right."

These letter continued each day, some containing small hints to who the person was, like the day Oscar found out the letter writer was a boy, he found himself relieved by the information because he didnt want to reject anyone and a deep part of his heart longed for the idea it could be Lando, though Oscar didnt let himself entertain that idea. Each letter was kept safely in the front pocket of Oscar's bag, he often re-read the notes, it was a new feeling, the knowledge that someone out there loved you so easily. Lando on the other hand was struggling to keep the secret, watching Oscar ramble about the letters and how he needed to know who it was made this situation both exciting and terrifying, what if when or if Lando revealed his name Oscar was disgusted or disappointed? Somedays he thought about never signing his name but he knew that would crush Oscar just as much as being rejected would crush Lando. So the night before valentines day, Lando sat, computer warming his lap as he typed vigorously. This had to be the perfect last letter. He awoke, laptop still open in his lap, he spent the entire night trying to write the best note possible. Yawning Lando got ready for the day and on his way to the MTC he stopped by a corner store, buying a small koala stuffed animal. He did his usual routine, print letter, go to room and stuff it in an envelope, pick todays flower: small white and pink flowers. Then he made his way to Oscar's office, as he went to knock he heard a voice. Shit, Oscar was here? Early?
Quickly he slipped the letter under the door and ran, almost tripping as he turned around a corner. Oscar opened the door, poking his head out to see if he could catch the person in the act. Which to his disappointment he didnt.
"Ill call you back, I got another letter." Logan, who was on the other side of the phone could probably hear Oscar's toothy grin through the phone.
"Okay man, talk later." And the phone went silent. He picked up the envelope, adding the flowers to a small bouquet he had been creating from all the little flowers.
The note read:

Hey Oscar,
Happy valentines day.
Your smile is my favourite thing to see in the mornings, the way you ramble about these small letters makes me feel giddy.
If you couldnt tell, I love you Osc ❤️

From, your favourite teamate.

It was from Lando. It was actually from Lando? Oscar felt embarrassment well in the pit of his stomach, he had been talking about these notes to Lando. Oscar didnt want to wait, he wanted to find Lando right now, but he couldnt. He trudged his way to the race simulator, trying his best to focus on driving and not the fact that Lando, his teamate, his crush, his world, liked him.
"Oscar that was your worst lap time yet, are you okay?" Today Bianca was in with Oscar for simulator, she was perched on a chair next to him, looknig slightly concerned.
"Sorry, yeah I just have alot on my mind."
Finally reached time for break and he jogged his way to the cafeteria, the brit was there already. He was fiddling with phone but not paying attention to it, he noticed Oscar and felt himself cringe as he dropped his head into his arms. Rejection was the worst part of love so he was trying his best to prepare himself for it. But Oscar didnt sit at the table, he walked up to Lando and whispered,
"Come to my room." Then walked away. Shit, Lando felt nerves rush through his body as he stumbled onto his feet, quickly following behind the Aussie. The door was closed by the time he got there so he knocked lightly. The door opened and he walked in, head hanging low. Before Oscar could get a single word out Lando began,
"Im sorry I shouldve known this was a stupid idea.." He wanted to crumble under the weight of embarrassment. "I know you dont like me, Im sorry you were probably disappointed-"
"Lando."
"I shouldnt have done this in the first place."
"Lando!" Oscar practically had to yell to get him to shut up.
"Lando, I love you, you romantic idiot." He threw his arms around Lando, letting the brit lay his head into his neck, Oscar smelt like deoderant and the ocean.
"Osc.." his hot breath brushed over the Aussies neck, getting a humm in response.
"I meant everything I said, you are so perfect." Oscar felt his legs get wobbly and his face burning red, hearing it instead or reading it was alot better.
"Oh shut up you sap." So Lando did, by pulling off Oscars shoulder and slamming their lips together, the kiss was hot and messy, not the perfect kiss, some teeth, but any contact with Oscar was good enough for Lando. They broke the kiss, both panting for air as Oscar checked the time.
"Shit break is almost over." He huffed, leaning back on the door.
"Can't we just skip the meeting.." Lando mumbled under his breath as he leant closer to Oscar, a leg between Oscars.
"No mate, come on.." They both made their way out of the office, their lips still tingling from the kiss. Oscar holding the koala tight in his hand.
