Lando sat at a table in the furthest corner of the library, hidden behind a bookshelf, he swore to his friends he wouldnt be caught dead in here but well now he's here and alive, against his will of course but he could never live this down if any of them saw him. He was curled on the seat, one knee pressed to his chest as he pushed the palms of his hands into his eyes till colorful patterns appeared. He wanted this over, but god was his new 'tutor' taking ages (maybe because he was hidden away, but thats not his fault) and he couldn't bare dealing with the nerdy whispers he could hear.
"Hi, Lando?" A voice suddenly appeared infront of him, startling him to the point he almost fell off his chair.
"Jesus- Warn a man." Lando grimaced as he looked up at the boy, he has a wave of chocolatey brown hair, and deeper brown eyes, pale skin littered with small freckles. He was objectively cute. The brit let out a loud, obnoxious sigh as he leant back in his chair. The boy sat on the opposite seat, dropping a couple books onto the table.
"Im Oscar by the way." Oscar spoke, he had a slight Aussie accent and his soft smile revealed a set of bunny teeth, Lando couldnt help but grin back. That smile dying quickly as Oscar opened his mouth to speak, "So what're you struggling with?"
"Im not struggling with anything." Lando huffed, crossing his arms defensively as he looked down at the books, one of the books was a maths booklet and others seemed to be for other subjects like English and history.
"Alright well, I have to help you mate." Oscar exhaled, leaning forward on his elbows, "What is it you need help with? Or I'll just ask Mr Bu-"
"Okay jeez!" Lando furrowed his brows angrily, fuck this cute nerd. "English mostly." He shrugged, he didnt want tutoring nor did he think he needed it, sure English wasn't his strongest subject but who cares.
"Oh alright easy." The Aussie smiled as he picked the English book out of the pile, flicking throughthe pages before landing on a page he seemed content with.

The rest of the tutoring session went as smoothly as you would expect, Lando was told to shush many times after groaning loudly over incorrect answers, but Oscar kept om going, he didn't shame Lando for what he didn't know but that didnt make Lando feel any less stupid, he hated feeling like an idiot and being tutored by a kid in the year below? That was for idiots.
"You know what Im sick of this." Lando hissed, forcing himself to his feet and gently hitting his fists against the table. "I dont care about English, and I dont need a tutor either."
"Lando-" He just shook his head as he began packing away his pen and book. "Lando stop mate." Oscar rolled his eyes as he stood up, grabbing Lando by the wrist. His hands were soft and his grip was gentle but firm. "Please can you just stay for a few more minutes?" He almost sounded as if he was begging, his brown eyes shining slightly as he pleaded with Lando.
"God fine." He couldn't resist, especially when he watched the way the tension melted from Oscar as they both sat back down, the Aussie finally letting go of Lando's wrist.
"Im sorry I just need the extra credit and I dont get if unless you get atleast a 75%." Oscar explained as he re-opened the book and continued the lesson.
These tutoring classes continued for the next three weeks, leading up to Lando's mid year exams. The two boys had gotten closer during the forced time spent together, Oscar learnt about Lando, how he'd always struggled with school and how his whole family was suprised he hadnt dropped out yet, or been kicked out. Oscar wasnt sure why but it upset him, so he reassured Lando that he was doing well, je watched as the brit turned his gaze to the floor as the tips of his ears burnt a bright red. Unlike Lando, Oscar was slower to open up as wide, though he talked about his family and how he'd moved from Australia to come study.

The three weeks passed quickly and Lando was sat at the table once again, he was fidgiting with the hem of his shirt as he waited anxiously for Oscar.
"Hey mate, you alright?" He asked as he sat next to Lando, noticing his nervous fidgeting.
"Yeah uh kinda nervous for the test." Lando muttered with a sigh as he turned his gaze from his hand to Oscar, who's eyes softened sweetly.
"Lando, you've been doing so well on the homework I gave you, you'll do great." His hand moved towards Lando's pulling them away from his shirt that was now slightly frayed from the picking, he didn't move his hand, instead he sat there tracing circles onto the back of Lando's hand.
"Yeah okay.." Lando finally managed to speak as a pink tint painted over his cheek bones and down his neck as his eyes locked onto Oscar's hand, if he had kept his eyes on Oscar for a moment longer he wouldve seen the red blush blossom over his face.

The test came and went, now Lando found himself sat in class next to Max Verstappen as their teacher walked around handing back the exam sheet.
"Im so fucked." Lando groaned, his head hitting the table with a loud thud, Max laughing next to him as he took both their exams back from Mrs.
"Dude, you're okay, Ive seen you studying with that guy in the library, Im sure you did okay-ish." The brit sat up quickly, his face scrunched angrily as he pouted.
"Okay-ish? Max thats not good enough! Im so fucked oh my god." He covered his face in his hands as he sat, his breaths speeding up as he began to panic.
"For crying out loud mate." Another voice groaned from his left, there was the sound of rustling paper before the voice spoke again, "you got 78 out of 100."
"I did what!?" Lando practically jumped out of his seat as he snatched the paper back from who he now saw was George Russel. "Holy shit I got 78!" Lando screamed happily before the bell rang, almost instantly he took his bag and ran from the classroom and towards the library where he found Oscar sat at their usual desk, his nose buried in a book. "Osc!" Lando whispered but it still came out too loud for a library, but by now all the librarians were used to his loudness.
"Woah whats up mate?" Oscar grinned as he stood up, Lando moving till there was less than a meter between them.
"I got 78! I actually got 78." Oscar's smile grew as he took the paper from Lando, looking over at the mark.
"I told you, I'm so proud of you Lan."
"Im so happy I could kiss you." Lando blurted out, suddenly aware of the nonexistent gap between them, he could almost count all Oscar's freckles from this close. But that wasnt the point. "I mean-" He began as his face burned a bright red, Oscar giggled infront of him before taking a step to close the gap. His lips were soft against Lando's, who's eyes widened in shock before pressing into the kiss, egarly. He wrapped his arms around Oscar's waist deepening the kiss as Oscar shoved a hand into Lando's curls, tugging gently enticing out a soft hum into the kiss.
"How cute, not in the library." A gruff voice called out as the two pulled apart and quickly nodded an apology to the librarian who rolled her eyes with a smile as they sped walked out of the library and to Lando's dorm room. The second they stepped into the room Lando pressed another, messy kiss into Oscar, pushing him down onto his bed with a surprised gasp.
"Fuck I love you Osc."
"I love you too."
