As we walked towards the main hall, I could see that Kasika's eyes were still fixed on my wound, her expression filled with concern. I knew that I would have to tend to it soon, but I didn't want to make a big deal out of it.

"Don't worry titli, it's just a small cut," I said nonchalantly, trying to downplay the severity of my injury. "It's not a big deal."

we entered the chamber, Kasika walked slightly behind me, her head bowed down.

My parents were seated on their thrones, engaging in a conversation with each other. They looked up as we entered and immediately noticed my injury.

"Beta, what happened?" My mother asked, her voice filled with concern. "Why are you hurt?"

"It's just a scratch, maa-sa," I replied, trying to brush off her worry. "It's nothing to worry about."

My father, however, wasn't convinced. He scrutinized the cut for a moment before speaking up. "That looks like a nasty one," he said, his tone serious. "You should get it checked by the court doctor."

I sighed, realizing that they weren't going to let this go. "Fine, I'll get it checked," I relented. "But it's really not a big deal."

My parents exchanged a glance, clearly not fully convinced themselves. My mother's eyes shifted towards Kasika, who was still standing slightly behind me, and her expression softened.

"Kasika, beta," my mother said gently, "come here."

Kasika looked up in surprise, clearly not expecting to be addressed directly. She walked forward hesitantly, her gaze still shyly cast down.

My mother gestured for her to come closer, her expression warm and inviting. "No need to be shy, beta," she said softly. "Come and sit next to me."

Kasika did as she was told, taking a seat on a chair next to my mother. She kept her head bowed down, her fingers fidgeting nervously in her lap.

My mother noticed her nervousness and reached out to pat her hand. "Relax, beta," she said soothingly. "There's no need to be so tense. We're all family here."
