"Meri jaan," Her body stiffened slightly, but she didn't turn around to look at me.

I moved around to kneel beside her, my hand still on her shoulder. Her face was turned away from me, and I could see the slight heaving of her chest as she tried to hide her tears.
"Why are you crying?" I asked, my voice soft and gentle.

For a moment, she didn't respond, but then I heard her voice, shaky and broken. "Wh-Why do you care? You've been ignoring me all day," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Her words stabbed at my heart. I hadn't meant to ignore her; I had just been trying to avoid saying something hurtful. I didn't want to cause her any more pain, even if I was angry myself.

I gently turned her towards me, wanting to look into her eyes. "I wasn't ignoring you. I just didn't want to say something I'd regret."

She continued crying, her words laced with pain. "You're just saying that. I know you're ignoring me. You've been avoiding me all day."
Her accusation stung, but I knew that I had contributed to her feelings.

I kissed her softly on her hand, then her cheek, and finally her eye, silently acknowledging the tears that she had shed throughout the day.

A small smile tugged at the corner of my mouth when I saw her angry expression. "Gussa bhi nhi hone deti aap, acha roona toh band kare
Roo khud rahi hai takleef mujhe de rahi hai"

I said teasingly.
(You don't even let me get angry, better stop crying
The crying itself is causing me pain)

She threatened me playful, her voice soft but laced with a hint of defiance. "If you take me for granted again, and ignore me again, I won't hesitate to spill your blood, you got it?"

A small smile tugged at the corners of my lips. Even when she was angry, she was still so damn cute.

I leaned down and gently kissed her lips, savoring the sweetness of her mouth. "Yes, my rani-sa. I understand," I whispered against her lips, my voice sultry.

I pulled away slightly, looking at her seriously. "So, you said something about a second marriage. Do you think you'd be able to handle it if I gave my affection to someone else?"

She hiccuped slightly, her voice shaky. "I was just asking hypothetically, what if you had to marry again for the sake of the kingdom?"

I stood up, watching her for a moment before fetching a glass of water. As I handed it to her, I gently caressed her cheek, my hand lingering on her skin.
