Kasika pov
I was chasing behind my youngest son, Arthik, trying to convince him to eat his dinner.
"Arthi, khana khalo beta," I pleaded, using my most persuasive tone. But as usual, he was being stubborn and refused to listen.
The little rascal was more energetic than ever, running around the room and evading my efforts to make him sit and eat.
"Come here, you little monkey," I called out, a mixture of annoyance and fondness in my voice. "You can play after you're done eating."
I lunged forward, trying to grab him, but he darted away with a mischievous giggle. It was a daily struggle to get my energetic boys to eat and behave, and I wondered when they would tire themselves out and finally be still.
I was sitting on a bench, exhausted and famished, my eyelids heavy and feeling the effects of my fast.
Out of nowhere, I felt a soft touch on my forehead and opened my eyes to see my husband standing in front of me.
He asked, "Why are you sitting here?" I explained, "I was trying to feed your son, but he keeps running away."
I looked up at him with a weary expression, feeling somewhat exasperated. It wasn't the first time that our son had caused me a headache.
"He won't stay still long enough to finish his meal," I continued. "I don't know what to do with him. He's so energetic and mischievous."
My husband called out to our son, Arthik, and miraculously, he came running towards us. My husband scooped him up in his arms and scolded him playfully.
"Why were you giving your mother a hard time?" he asked, while our son just grinned mischievously.
Our little one then said with a pout, "Bapu-sa told me not to listen to Maa-sa"
I rolled my eyes at our son's cheeky answer. Of course, he was using his father's words against me.
I playfully smacked my husband's arm, saying, "See what you've done? Now he won't listen to a word I say."
My husband just chuckled, clearly amused by the whole situation.
"Well, I can't help it if our son loves me more, can I?" he joked, sticking out his tongue at me.
My husband looked at me and asked, "Have you eaten yet?"
I shook my head and reminded him, "It's Karwa Chauth today, you forgot?"
My husband looked surprised for a moment, realizing his oversight. Karwa Chauth was an important day for me, a traditional Hindu fast observed by married women for the wellness and longevity of their husbands.
"Oh, right," he said apologetically. "I'm sorry, I forgot. You must be hungry then."
My husband asked if I was hungry, and I shook my head, saying, "No, I'm fine."
As I was feeding our son, I noticed that our other twin was missing. I asked our husband about his whereabouts, and he informed me that our other son was with Daksh
I looked at my husband with a curious expression. "He's with devar-sa?" I inquired.
"Yes, Daksh is taking care of him," he replied.
