Hydrogenic Ocean

Lights could be seen on the horizon towards which our ship was heading. We have traveled thousands of kilometers and, so far, not a sign of life. Maybe that's as far as we can get. Tearing and piercing the planet's heavy clouds, the ship comes closer to the aforementioned lights. There weren't supposed to be those lights, something strange lives down there. We had already slowed down a few kilometers ago to avoid diving completely into the Jovian Ocean, so now we were just gliding. The lights were getting brighter. If it weren't for the ship's implanted adaptive screen, our retinas would be burned out. We had finally passed the thick cloud layer.

A metallic ocean appeared in front of us, a strange ocean, half-dazzled by the strong lights that illuminated us. It's consistent but, at the same time, liquid waters naturally rippled across the entire landscape and reflected the lights that brightened them. In a few moments, through the screen, we were able to visualize the landscape. I didn't believe what I saw. Stilt-like structures filled my entire vision, gigantic structures that made contact with the scorching ocean of metal. How could a material withstand such Jovian temperatures? The same material as our ship, only that alien metal that we were so enchanted with, could withstand so much pressure and temperature. Dumped in heaps, structures of different shapes and sizes, shapes that would never leave my mind, shapes that I had never seen in any dream of my century-old existence. Along with each of these "bases", there was a peculiarly shaped lamp that shone the entire mantle of the planet. From their large chimneys, bluish smoke emerged, as if those facilities were some kind of combustion-powered factory, even though they already have another form of energy. So far I haven't been able to come to a concrete conclusion.

Suddenly, five silhouettes emerge from inside the facility, shooting into the air, as if they were missiles or something. One of our identification cameras can take a still photo of one of these silhouettes. As soon as the photo was developed, everyone was scared, at least those who weren't busy trying to predict the movement of the foreign bodies. It was an object of an unimaginable color, its body was similar to a fish, its skin shone, reflecting some of the lights that surrounded us, but even with its fusiform body, it had no eyes, no mouth and much less hands. It looked like some living being from the depths of the Earth's seas. The thing that caught my attention the most was a sphere on his "belly", which seemed to be moving, even in the precise camera photo, it was still out of focus, it was as if it were moving at a million kilometers per hour. But my observation is not reliable, I just looked at the photo for a few seconds, until my attention was taken by a barrage of lasers, lasers that turned off the ship's engines for a few seconds, making us fall in free fall, straight to the sky. mantle of the planet. If it weren't for the reserve energy that was turned on moments after the ship's failure, we would be submerged in the infernal ocean of this star.

— It's the aliens! It's them! They are heading for a direct confrontation. The space combat explorer shouted.

- Now! So prepare for the kidnapping, use all the force of the ship. The Pollaris Astrus exclaimed.

The ship opened fire, while using its maximum thrust. Meanwhile, the aliens flanked. In this exchange of fire, we hit first. The creature that was hit exploded, and parts of its body were thrown everywhere. His sphere detached from his entire body and fell into the ocean, exploding on contact, an explosion so large that it formed a huge wave, which soon dissipated. With the help of the two pilots, we managed to escape two more gusts and we were face to face with our objective.
