I can't believe I thought he was intimidating, Jungkook thinks as he leaves Jimin's office. He shakes his head as he reads through the file Jimin gave him for training while walking back to his room. Looks like he'll be with an instructor named Kim Seokjin and he'll need to wake up early. But 5 am is way too early what the fuck.
The rest of the day he spends observing the outdoor training grounds instead of the palace. He watches as men and women of all sizes and powers train together. It's almost fascinating, seeing how everyone moves randomly yet all together, like a well oiled machine. He can see them split up into squadrons, divided by honed skill sets. One squadron specializes in hand-to-hand combat, another for archery, another for bronze- and gold-manipulating fairy soldiers. There was one with a thick gold mask on that covered his entire face, making Jungkook wonder how he could even see outta that thing. As if his thoughts were read, the man turns to Jungkook's direction and stills for a moment. The chills Jungkook got were instantaneous. The masked man turns back to his training task and Jungkook wants to hide. But before he can duck and turn away, he catches sight of something better. There was another man, tall and broad shoulders and strikingly handsome, in a different way than Jimin was. Did I just admit that he's handsome? ...yes, yes I did. This man though was strong, in body and in aura. He was off to the side training what seemed to be a very advanced squadron. The soldiers there didn't really need training so the trainer was more like supervising them by standing to the side and observing. He caught himself staring for a little too long, thinking why everyone in the palace was so attractive? First Jimin, then Junior Advisor Hoseok, then Taehyung the stylist, and now this man. He asks out loud to himself, "Is it a requirement to be hot to get a job here or what?"
"Not at all."
"FUCK SHIT!" Jungkook jumps and turns around to see 2, also quite attractive, men with matching black, thin-rimmed glasses and open white lab coats. He recognizes them from the few times he'd seen Jimin meet them, always speaking in some science-y terms he doesn't understand.
It was the taller one who had spoken to him. He introduces himself as, "Kim Namjoon, head of the inventions division in the ministry of science" he says with his deep voice as he holds out a hand for Jungkook to shake.
"Min Yoongi, head of the environmental relations division in the ministry of science" the shorter one states, voice just as deep but with a lazy rumble to it. He holds out his hand as well and Jungkook shakes both with relaxed shoulders and a shy smile on his face.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Jeon Jungkook, uhh, head of uhhhh..."
"Being a pain in the ass to the prince?" Min Yoongi says.
Jungkook is surprised. How did he know about him and the prince? He thought it'd still be a secret? He didn't think he was that much of a pain in the ass, was he?
It seems the surprise on his face was clear enough for Kim Namjoon to answer all of his unspoken questions. "Jimin complains about you a lot, but I'm pretty sure he does it without realizing."
"What is there to complain about? He's the annoying one, always acting all high and mighty," he counters with a frown.
He hears Yoongi huff and then, "I mean, he is the prince. He's literally high and mighty."
"Ya know, I was gonna respect you because you know science and shit but now, I don't think I like you very much," Jungkook states as he crosses his arms.
Namjoon takes half a step in between them and turns to stop Yoongi, who had his finger ready to point and continue arguing. "Don't worry hyung, I like you enough." He then turns to Jungkook, "don't mind him, he missed out on a nap earlier and is still cranky about it."
