Hotel room

After a little while, you got out the lagoon and went to one of the private changing rooms. Surprisingly, it was actually quite nice. Your head was racing with what had happened. You couldn't let your emotions keep surfacing like that. Once you got into your clothes, you walked to the hotel with the other four. Everyone went to their rooms, but when you entered yours, you were surprised to see Cleo sitting on the bed.

"Y/n, what are you doing here?" Cleo asked.

"Well, Maelstrom said this was my room," you said, a little confused.

"Oh, that wrinkly old bastard!" Cleo yelled, getting up from the bed and storming out the door to find Maelstrom.

Cleo's POV

I could feel the heat rising to my face. Just the thought of sharing a bed with the beautiful Duchess made me blush. My heels clicked on the marble floor as I passed the different doors lining the hallways. Once I arrived in front of Maelstrom, I sharply knocked on the door, making sure he heard it. The door opened to Maelstrom with a smug smirk on his face.

"Can I help you, Countess?" He asked calmly.

"You know damn well why I'm here!" I said in a not so calm voice.

"Well, considering your face is as red as a tomato, I'd say you figured out the sleeping arrangements?" Maelstrom laughed. My face turned a deeper red, I folded my arms and looked away to hide my face.

"Can't you just change it?" I mumbled.

"No can do, Cleo," he said, and I scoffed. "Besides, I'm tired of seeing both you and the Duchess being too much of cowards to confess anything,"

"What?! I- no, there's nothing to confess," I said, raising a hand to cover my face.

"Sure, whatever helps you sleep at night," Maelstrom said. "Which, might I add, will be with Y/n tonight," he added.

"Ugh, you're impossible!" I sighed, rolling my eyes at him and walking away.

Back to Y/n's POV >:3

Cleo walked back into the room, her face slightly red.

"He um, he says we can't change," Cleo said. Silence filled the room, and butterflies crowded your stomach. You would be sharing a bed with Cleo for the second time this week.

"We've done it before. We can do it again, darling," you said, hoping your nervousness didn't show in your voice.

"Oh, I do wish you would stop using that undignified nickname," Cleo said, taking her golden earrings out and placing them on a small table.

"If you get to call me flower, then I get to call you darling," you argued. Cleo blushed when you reminded her of the nickname she gave you. The Egyptian then walked up to you.

"You have to admit, the nickname flower suits you," she smiled, lifting a lock of your hair from your face and tucking it behind your ear. Cleo's touch was soft and comforting, like the warm sunlight after standing in the cold.

"That is something I'll never admit,"

"I know," the Countess ran her thumb slowly over your cheek, taking in every little detail. "I should, um.., probably get on with my nightly routine," Cleo took her hand away and looked over to the en suite.

"Ah yes, right," you cleared your throat before Cleo walked off to the bathroom.

All you really had to do was get dressed into your classic t shirt and shorts sleepwear. It took Cleo an hour before she came out of the bathroom, her shiny damp hair clinging to the sides of her face. She was dressed in a green night gown with a green silk robe to match. The cuffs of the robe were decorated with soft black feathers. You had already climbed into the bed and were now reading a book and the skills you would need for covering up a murder.

You were just finished with a page when you felt a presence looming over you. You save your page with a bookmark (not folding the page, only monsters do that) and look up to see Cleo. Her arms were folded, and one of her eyebrows was raised.

"You're on my side," Cleo said, her tone cool, not a single hint of humor in her voice.

"What?" you asked.

"You're on my side of the bed," Cleo repeated. "Could you move,"

"Would it kill you to switch sides for a night?"

"Yes, flower," your stomach filled with butterflies from Cleo's nickname.

"Well, too bad, cause I'm sleeping here," you joked.

"I didn't want to do this, but you leave me no choice," Cleo then lifted up the covers which confused you, but that confusion quickly turned to surprise when Cleo scooped you up in her arms and started walking to the other side of the bed. You face flushed red as she plopped you down on the bed. She then got in bed on the other side and pulled up the covers.

"Goodnight, flower," Cleo said before turning off the light and going to sleep. Her words danced around in your head, her sweet voice filling your mind. As you drifted off to sleep, you looked over to the peaceful sleeping Cleo and smiled. 'God, why does she have to look so gorgeous,' you thought. And soon you were asleep as well.
