~ 2010 September 6th ~

"Y/n..," your father muttered.

"Yes?" You asked, not bothering to look up from your dinner. He then slammed a box onto the table. Your box.

"Care to explain this?!" He yelled before placing your journal onto the table as well. Your father had flipped to the page of August 11th, 2009, and when he tore off the lid of the box, it revealed piles apon piles of jewelry, wallets, and trinkets. "You're a common thief, going around, stealing and disgracing the family name?!"

"You wouldn't understand! You never understand!" You yelled back, standing up from your chair.

"Oh, I understand perfectly, you're stealing, then you're gonna try to escape this family!" He laughed psychotically.

"Don't pretent you were planning my future," you were crying angry tears at this point. "Ever since Mum died, you've wanted nothing to do with me!"

"That's it, you little bastard!" He then pulled a gun from his coat pocket.

~ 1 year earlier ~

You angrily slammed your door and flopped onto your bed. You grabbed your journal as well as your treasure box from under your bed and placed a pearl necklace in it. These were things you would eventually sell when you ran away. Soon, you began to write in your journal

August 11th, 2009

Next year, I'll be leaving this shit hole, I hate this family.

After my mother died, father has only cared for his new wife and wife's son. I inherited the title of "Duchess" but father says I can't actually use the title until I've gotten married to the arranged marriage. Like eww, I don't want to marry a stupid rich guy who's triple my age.

Maybe if it were a hot milf, I'd consider it, but otherwise NO! Father says I'm rude and if I keep acting so snappy, no one will love me... maybe I'll poison everyone with my rudeness, then they'll all leave me alone. I'll save up enough by stealing, then sell it all and live a life alone.

~ one year later ~

"You'll never escape!" Your father laughed, pointing the gun at you. You were frozen. It was as if you were glued to a target, and you were the bullseye. You couldn't recognize the man in front of you. before, he was your father, his smile could light up a room, but this... this wasn't him anymore. Just then, something lit up inside you and you elbowed him in the stomach, he fired the gun, a loud blast was sent in your direction, just barely missing you. You grabbed the gun and turned it on him.

"Y/n..." He smiled deviously. "Don't you understand?" Instead of asking for him to elaborate, you just stared at him, his mind seemed broken, a sick and twisted broken. "Your just as bad as me," he laughed.

"No, I'm nothing like you," you said, disgusted at the man your father had become. "Now eat lead, bitch!" You screamed, before pulling the trigger. Blood poured out of your father's limp body, lying motionless on the dining room floor. Blood was dripping from the ugly dress your father had got you, tears surfaced and rolled down your face. You dropped the gun, grabbed the box, and headed for your father's study, there were gleaming gold treasures, but that wasn't why you were there. You walked to the table, picking up car keys and a few cigarettes.

You walked to the balcony and pulled out a cigarette, you always carried a lighter in your back pocket for just in case, it was your mother's. You never really smoked, your father did though.

"In memory of you, father." You said, breathing out a cloud of smoke. After, you flicked the burnt out remains of the cigarette onto the ground below. You walked to the car, the past events of the evening replaying in your head. Your only seventeen, you shouldn't have to deal with this...

You got in the car, it felt as if all your senses were heightened. The leather that covered the seats felt rough, and the air was crisp, a light breeze would shake the trees ever so often. It was... peacful. You didn't know where you were driving to, you didn't need to know. All you knew is that this was the start of something new.
