Chasing Her / Chapter Five
Renee.
I put a finger up to my lips, telling him to be quite. "I think we've work to do," I say trying to smile, but an emptiness inside stopped me from doing so.
He stares at me weirdly. His eyes were filled with shock. His eyes were green, too. They reminded me of my mother's emerald diamond shaped earrings that she always wore. But when my mother wore them, she was happy. Happiness wasn't evident on his face at all. Only shock and some sort of look that showed he was mortified.
I really couldn't blame him, to be honest. I was bleeding from my legs and God knows where else. I have huge bruises over my body, mainly my face. One of my eyes are bloodshot, the other one black. I am under so much pain that it hurts to breathe. I wonder if I have bruised ribs?
He continues to stare at me. His face never letting go of that mortified expression. His mouth is agape, only his hand moves. It reaches up to my face and touches it softly. His hand cold and rough.
When I talked to him, his eyes hold a hint of surprise. But then he frowns at my words and looks at my face. He nods, but the confusion is clearly evident. I don't bother to try to smile again. It's hopeless to try to show some good emotions when I feel beyond terrible.
With that bare touch, I hiss in pain. A burning sensation is what I'd describe it. My eyes water because of the pain. He studies my reaction intently. I don't know why he is because it is pretty obvious that I am in severe pain. Fucking hell, is he study how the human body reacts to getting touched when hurt? Asshole.
"Who did this to you, Renee?" He spoke softly, almost affectionately at me. His voice quite yet filled with curiosity.
Tears stream down my cheeks, and hit the ground. They leave the ground damp, and that fascinates me even more than him. It kind of reminds me of the situation I left him in.
I watch as Melanie tries to run down the path. Her knee is damaged by a kick Zayn had given her. I want to laugh, but that'll just blow my cover. I'm going to do bad things to that bitch, I want her to hate herself. She doesn't deserve to be alive, she's trying to take Chance away from me and it drives me demented. If she doesn't back away from him, I'll make her life twice as worst. I can and I will at any cost to keep my relationship with Chance.
Melanie looks behind her as she continues to run. A terrified look plays on her faces features. Her breathing is loud and shaky. She grabs her knee tightly and hisses in pain. I decide that it's my time to show up.
Slowly, I make my way out of the bushes and show myself. "Melanie," I say in a superior way. She's a weird, fat, ugly cow that cries about everything. It's quite amusing to watch if I've to be honest. A smirk makes it way to my lips when I see her look back at me.
Her hair is a mess, it sticks out in all different directions. Her clothes are dirty and raggy, they're so badly ripped it shows off some cleavage. I nearly puke when I see her huge belly. She's so ugly!
Melanie's face goes red. "You're some bitch, Renee," She screams at me, anger and annoyance evident in her voice. All I can do is laugh at her protectiveness over Chance. It's really sad, just like her. Chance is nothing to her and she knows that. It ticked me off when he said that they were. He's a good liar, I'll give him that.
"Shut up, Melanie!" I shout at her with a giggle. "You wouldn't want Chance to hear you. would you?" I say mocking her strongly.
She rolls her severely damaged eye. "Once Chance sees the real you, he won't want to touch you,"Melanie says annoyed and truthfully.
