Instead of opening with clips from the previous episode, the recap opened on the various flora and fauna of the island, the camera lingering on its beauty. "On today's special episode of Total Drama Island... You've been watching Maki, Celestia, Rantaro, Hiyoko, and Junko make their way to the final five."
"It's been a long seven weeks. So, we decided to give our weary finalists the day off so we could contemplate how far they've gotten and enjoy all the island has to offer.
"But what happens to the campers after they walk the Dock of Shame, board the Boat of Losers, and leave the camp? Where are these rejects living? How are they spending their time? And who do they think deserves to win the one-hundred grand? The losers are about to let it hang out, and you won't wanna miss a word! Coming up on...
Total...
Drama...
Island!"

Episode Twenty-One: Haute Camp-ture
-
A tropical tune took over as the episode opened up on Chris driving a speedboat up a luxurious-looking resort, complete with rolling hills and palm trees, sailboats lined up against the dock, and a giant hotel.
"Welcome," he started, "to Playa de Losers. The all-inclusive resort where our campers are sent after being brutally voted off the game to lick their wounds and accept their fate as reality show has-beens. As you can see, our campers have made themselves comfortable in this luxury resort."
In particular, Yasuhiro was eating at the buffet, while Komaru and Makoto were lounging in lawn chairs together, Kokichi was running around the pool, and Kazuichi was helping himself to the buffet.
"When we're down to our two final competitors, their fate will be in the hands of these seventeen losers. It looks like a few couples are happy to be reunited." Namely, Sayaka and Leon, as well as Kaede and Kaito were all sitting together at a smoothie island in their swimsuits.
"Can you believe how close this place is to that island," Leon commented. "Makes me wish I'd been kicked off earlier."
Sayaka playfully rolled her eyes at him. "So you'd rather give up the chance to win money?"
Leon shrugged. "For all of this? Absolutely. Besides, I didn't win anyways, so..."
"Yeah, this place is pretty sweet," Kaito agreed. "The water's nice, too!"
He hopped down from his seat into the pool below. "Hey, Kaede, wanna—OW!" Kaito yelped, immediately jumping back up to his seat.
"What happened?!" Kaede asked.
"Something just bit me! On my leg!"
"Was it a shark?" Leon assumed.
"Sharks don't swim in this type of water," Sayaka corrected. "Besides, I saw Kirumi giving them seaweed wraps."
She pointed off to the side, and the camera panned over to Kirumi, in fact, spreading the masks on the faces of two sharks laying in chairs.
"Then what the hell just bit me?!" Kaito exclaimed, frantically checking the water.
At that moment, Kokichi popped up from underneath the surface, a shit-eating grin on his face.
Kaito glared at him. "Now why would you go and do that for?!"
"Why not? It was funny."
"I don't think Kaito found it as funny as you did," Sayaka pointed out.
