A stifling atmosphere started to brew from within the Headquarters. With intimidating glares, the Mercs and Knights engaged in a tug-of-war as they attempted to outdo one another.

How and why did the Mercenaries end up within the Knights Headquarters, you may be wondering? Well, to recap...

As soon as Jean and Engineer had finished scolding Klee and Pyro for their actions at Windrise, the Mercenaries and the Knights realized they were creating a major commotion in the middle of Mondstadt. The citizens were casting curious glances at the Mercs' peculiar appearances. Most muttered, "Who are they?" "They don't look from here." "What are they doing here?", so on and so forth.

To avoid drawing any more attention to themselves, Jean asked Engineer and the others whether they could act as captured Hoarders to reduce suspicion. The Mercenaries, however, blatantly refused, but Engineer somehow managed to persuade them to do so—albeit some of them strongly disapproved of it and carried a grudge toward Engie as a result.

Like they were being taken into custody, the Knights guided the Mercs back to the Headquarters. And now, we are back in the present, with both sides glaring at one another.

Jean knew something like this would happen when she chose to bring the Mercs here, but she didn't expect it to evolve into such a tense meeting. The Knights were clearly on edge with their current situation, with weapons at their sides. They are most concerned that the Mercenaries would prefer to throw hands than to openly cooperate with them, as seen by the Whispering Woods and Thousand Winds Temple incident.

Likewise, the Mercs would be more than delighted to level the entire Headquarters. However, the Engineer's plan to play the passive option remained in place, so they reluctantly went through. But, some of them were already itching to start a fight.

The only individuals who were entirely oblivious of the whole ordeal were Klee and Pyro, as they watched the situation from the sidelines.

Klee: "Hey, hey, Mr. Pyro. What do you think they're doing?" Klee whispered to Pyro, asking.

Pyro only shrugged in response to her question. Even they have no clue of what to think of the whole situation.

Klee: "Everyone looks mad. Is it because of what we did at Windrise?"

Pyro sighed, feeling gloomy, after hearing her words. When Albedo explained what had happened at Windrise to Jean, Klee only managed to receive a relatively light punishment in the form of mild scolding by Jean and relieving her from her explosives.

Pyro, on the other hand, got the worst of the deal. On top of the harsh remarks from the other Mercs, they were stripped of their weapons, including the Jetpack, and even a hard blow to the head by Engineer himself. The worst of it was that the Engineer used his Gunslinger to hit them, leaving a noticeable bump on their head.

To put it simply, Pyro had the worst outcome between the two of them.

Klee: "Uh, Klee is very sorry for getting both of us into trouble, Mr. Pyro. I only wanted us to play together." Klee apologized as she brooded over her mistake.

Pyro turned to her and gave her a reassuring pat on her head, an act which means, "It's okay.". Klee immediately lightened up after receiving the gesture.

Klee: "Thank you, Mr. Pyro."

But before Klee could fully express her gratitude, Pyro promptly reached into their waist belt bag and pulled out two lollipops. They gave the other one to Klee.
