I stood next to MK, watching as Monkey King scurried around—throwing things into a suitcase. I glanced over at MK, seeing his saddened and confused expression, causing me to frown. "Monkey King, what are you doing?" I directed my gaze towards the simian in question, expression narrowing in distaste. Sure, he wasn't actually going on a vacation, but I still think he should be telling MK that—and not to mention me! He doesn't even know that I know. "Relax, bud. I'm just going on a little vacation!" The simian laughed, shaking his head. He was awfully bad at lying, though MK didn't seem to notice. "What do you mean 'vacation?'" MK asked, frowning.

I suddenly heard both mine and MK's phones go off, and I took mine out(as did he with his). Our phones were blaring with an advertisement, a weird little pixel bug on the screen and a voice repeating 'Sleep bug! Download it now from the app store!' I grimaced, shaking my head as MK straight up threw his phone aside and ignored it. Well, at least this will hopefully be more calm than the other day. I held down my phone's power button, turning it off since the ad wouldn't close. I pocketed my phone, turning back to Monkey King.

"Dawww, c'mon bud!" Monkey King spoke, either not noticing or disregarding what had happened to mine and MK's phones. "I promised myself when I found a successor I'd go see some friends! Take a tour of my old stomping grounds, just cut loose! You know?" He spoke whilst rummaging through his things. He took out a pair of red sunglasses, putting them on. "Oo, gonna need these." He grinned. "B-but you can't just leave! What if someone attacks the city?" MK protested, gasping dramatically. "What if the Spider Queen comes back?!" He panicked.

"MK, chillax." I sighed, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Ahhh, you'll figure it out! It's adorable how nervous you are." Monkey King laughed, grabbing his suitcase. "But don't be! You've come a long way, also you've got [Name]!" The ginger furred simian grinned, turning around. "And you know—/The next step of your journey, you must do alone./" He said dramatically, then turned to me. "Speaking of alone, I need to talk with you, bud." He smiled dorkily, masquerading his intentions. I frowned.

Before either me or MK could protest, Monkey King dragged me to the side—his expression contorting into a stern scowl. "Listen, kid." I sweatdropped at his tone, brushing off my clothes. "Yes?-" I raised a brow. "/I'm/ the one who's supposed to act dumb, so stop that. You know more than you let on." He narrowed his gaze at me. "I-" I didn't finish my sentence, cutting myself off. "I may not know /how/, but you know where I'm actually going, don't you?" He accused, causing me to glance away.

"Yeah, I do." I sighed, unable to lie blankly to his face. I knew he would see through it. I wonder what tipped him off. Maybe the thing with Shadow? I wasn't sure. "Tell me, kid. Where am I going?" His tail stilled, betraying a stern attitude. "You're going to retrieve the map for the Samadhi Fire." I replied, trying to keep my tone even. He narrowed his gaze, before sighing. "Listen, I know you don't have bad intentions, so I'll let you off without further questions—but /don't/ tell the kid. Understood?" He bargained dryly.

I sighed again, hesitating. Could I keep that promise? ...Did it matter if I kept that promise? Well, I've never been one to look before I leap anyways. "Fine, I won't." I promised, crossing my fingers behind my back. I wasn't sure if I would tell MK or not, but better safe than sorry. His mood instantly shifted back to his happy-go-lucky one, and he grinned. "Nice talk!" He chirped, turning back to MK. I walked back over, waving MK's questions off. Luckily, he quickly refocused on Monkey King leaving.

"W-wait, you said alone?" MK realized. "Don't worry! I'll check in, give you some training tools, remote lessons, ah we'll figure it out! You'll be great! Don't worry." Monkey King leapt onto his Somersault Cloud with his suitcase, speeding off. "Monkey King out!" I facepalmed, not amused and still shaken by the previous conversation. I flinched back at the part of the mountain left destroyed by his speed, as MK yelled into the distance. "Okay, fine, just leave! At least my friends will never abandon me!" I glanced at Mk with a grimace, shaking my head.
