The Sudden Arrangement

Chapter 1: The Party || (≧∇≦)ﾉ

Scaramouche pov:

"I never really wanted to go on this trip, mom" I said annoyingly to my mother who was now driving on the highway, "I brought you with me for you to meet new people, not to be annoying" Ei said as she now takes a turn to a corner towards the venue. I grumble to her comment, "where's the pinky?" I was a bit curious why she didn't join the car ride with us. "She has to finish her last case first so she'll be arriving later on." Ei replied. "Ah.." I said sarcastically. 'As expected of a lawyer..' I thought, as the car parks in the parking lot.

I got out of the car and walked with my mother to the main lobby. We saw a man and a woman in suits approach us leading us the way to the venue. The venue was quite big and the party had yet to start. My mother suggested I go to my hotel room first to fix my things and just go back to the venue by 6 pm. I nodded and went to find the elevator of the hotel.

'Where the fck is the elevator in this hotel??' I thought, I scan the hallways, quite frustrated. I soon went back to the main lobby to find the same man in a suit who assisted me and my mother. I go to him, asking for directions. He assisted me to my room, he was polite i guess...

I enter my room, placing my suitcase beside my bed before just laying down on the bed. I was tired from the long trip but I was forced to go to the stupid event.. I only have 3 hours before the event starts, so I started fixing my stuff, getting ready and soon going to the venue at 5:50 pm. I didn't want to be late because my mother would probably scold me for doing so.

As soon as I entered, I already saw a large crowd. I find my mother talking with a woman with dark brown hair with ruby eyes. I walk to my mother, greeting her and her 'friend'.

"My, my! What a fine young man you have there Lady Ei," the woman said. "Ah, yes. This is my son, Kunikuzushi" My mother said happily, "mom!" I whisper to her, I never really liked my first name so I usually use my second name for introductions.

Ei giggles a bit, "He usually goes by scaramouche" she added. "Well hello there, scaramouche" the woman said in a friendly tone, "My name is Beidou, I'm..a coworker of your mother" she said with a smile. For some reason, to me her smile seems..suspicious..I don't really know what this woman is thinking...but I brush it off as It is just our first meeting. "Ah, yes..hello.." I replied.

For about a few minutes she kept on asking me about myself, like my age, my current love life status, my job, and sneaked a few glances at my mother, nodding. It was weird.. But my mother kept glaring at her. I excused myself to go to the bathroom. As I walked out the venue, in the hallway I suddenly bumped into a guy.. I got up and helped him but kept a cold look on my face. I must say he has the looks, like his white platinum hair paired with a red streak on his hair, but I'm not that interested in him, I think...

I looked at him, I couldn't quite see his face. He immediately apologized and ran to the venue, 'He is quite..awkward..' I continued to look at him until he entered the venue. I shook my head, trying to forget what happened and saw something on the ground. It was a necklace with a maple leaf charm. I took it and went to the restroom before looking for the platinum haired guy in the venue. I had wasted a few minutes trying to look for him in the venue but to no avail. I don't want to go back to where my mother is, as I'm quite uncomfortable with that 'Beidou' person. I decided to get a few drinks at the bar area before deciding to return to my mothers side, unwillingly.

As I entered the venue, I saw that the 'Beidou' person left with Lady Ningguang and was drinking at one of the tables. I also saw my mother with pinky. Then I go to my mothers, hoping to get an answer why that 'Beidou' person was asking all those questions earlier.

"Mom? Why was 'beidou' asking such questions earlier?" I asked, quoting my hands as I said 'beidou'. "She was getting information" Ei replied, "huh..?" I reacted, a bit confused and surprised. "She is an informant, and owns a large trading company, She usually calls the persons whom she traded with her 'colleagues'.." Ei added. "I guess she got quite curious about kuni~" Yae chuckled as she teased me. "Oh..alright.." I replied to Ei, completely ignoring Yae.

After a few hours in the party, I got tired and decided to head back to my room. When I exited the venue, I saw the platinum haired on the ground in the hallway, finding something....

'What is this idiot doing? Is he mentally ill or something? Wtf is he searching on the floor' I thought as I by him and remembering about the necklace he dropped

"Hey." I said quite coldly as I tapped his shoulder. The platinum boy looks at me and I must say he is quite good looking..'he must be popular at their school' i thought.

"Ah..?do you need something...?" the platinum haired boy looked at me intently before remembering who I was. Probably- "you're the guy from earlier!" he said quite surprised.

"Yeah.." I reach inside my pocket, showing him a maple charmed necklace "Is this yours? You dropped it earlier." I said and left. "Wait!" the platinum haired guy said, but I continued to go my way towards my hotel room, ignoring him.
